Chapter 1: What are Kane and Kingy's initial thoughts on the Power's win?
It is a very good morning to the 701ers. Thanks for your company this morning. We love the 601ers the best. We don't mind the 701ers. We love if you listen to us on the podcast or watch us on YouTube. You can get us in all those places. Tom Morris very shortly will spend some time with us live in the studio. He's already here. He's been here since 6.30.
He gets up early, does the work, the Monday agenda, Chris Fagan, and then your feedback to close out the proceedings of this morning. Our first thoughts are for Signet. Life's never flat when you power every moment with the Signet Powerbank, signet.com. David King's the best analyst in football. We always start with his first thoughts from the round, round seven.
Kingy, where does your attention take us to this morning?
Now, I see you've got Geelong on the radar as well. Is it a mulligan or more? Is it more than a mulligan or do we just say, you know what, they've been so good for so long, let's just move past this performance? Or is it one of those ones that sits in your guts and you think, you know what, there's an attitudinal issue, there's a defensive issue. Is it more than this?
The coach looked angry in the post-match.
Yeah, look, because history would say they do have the odd mulligan and bounce back, pretty strongly and nothing can sort of derail them. But there was some alarming stuff. And I just think you look forward at their list. Henry played one of the worst games I've ever seen on Georgiades. He did. And no one ever speaks about Jack Henry. We've never put him in the gun.
We've never probably mentioned him on Fireball. Jack Henry just sort of gets the job done every... Well, does he? How many... Like, Georgiades would have had double-digit shots at goal. He had six in the first quarter. Didn't kick accurately, of course.

Chapter 2: How do Kane and Kingy assess Geelong's performance?
But, like, he... I don't know what he was doing, Jack Henry. So is he... Is it now start to think about, OK, well, is he going to be able to reliably get the job done for us like he usually has been? Tom Stewart is... You know, you can't keep doing it at 35. De Kooning, you've spoken about, does he ever... I know he didn't play. Does he ever influence...
the game, Sam Deconing, I mean, sort of just, just there, and gets a fist in every now and then, you go, yeah, that's a nice spoil, but, so, I look at their key backs, and go, okay, well, there's Butters in the mix, there's Ben King, they'll be in the mix, for whoever that they can get, but,
they desperately need some key defensive support because that was as bad a defensive display as you're going to see from a Geelong side.
Yeah, and I think their defensive stuff starts from their forward line. I'm looking at them thinking, maybe Brian Myers is their most important player.
Hmm.

Chapter 3: Is Geelong's recent game a sign of deeper issues?
Maybe he's the Cats' number one player because he's so clever with the ball. He plays a lot of midfield minutes and they connect better when he's delivering the ball inside 50 with his angles and his precision. So maybe he's the biggest omission at Geelong.
Couldn't move the ball, could they?
They couldn't lock it in their forward half. There was one forward half intercept for the first half. Two and three quarters of footy. They normally get 27 a game. So they didn't get any opportunity to rest the back six and the ball. Gee whiz, did Port move the ball with some brilliance on the weekend? I haven't seen them do that.
Yeah, so shout out to Port. I thought defensively that's where it started for them. I thought they shut down the exits as well as I've seen them do it defensively. Every time Geelong moved it wide and there was nothing really threatening, they really struggled to penetrate over halfway. It was a really strong performance from Port Adelaide. Butters amazes me.
When Mullins just came off keeping Bont to five kicks, we spoke about it on Friday, everyone knew that it was coming. He just took him on head-to-head and smashed him. smashed him with a bit of help as well. I thought they supported him really well and Horn Francis did what he did.
What about that kick? What about the kick from Horn Francis? Across the body, 50-meter dart. It was like a golf stinger in the golf. Two meters off the ground and I thought, watching it on the TV, I'm thinking, that can't get there. Get there? It got there in about 0.1 of a second. It was fantastic.
So it's a watch the cats, isn't it? It's a real watch. Dangerfield is a watch. You're giving them a mulligan. I am. I am. But I think that there needs to be a plan for life after Tom Stewart. And have they got one? I'm sure that they do. I'm sure Andrew Mackey and the crew down there and Chris Scott have got a plan for him. But if Henry keeps his spot in the side after that, I'll be surprised.
And his brother's not going any good either. So there's a Henry problem at Geelong.

Chapter 4: What role does Jack Henry play in Geelong's struggles?
He hasn't touched it for a year or longer yet. So they've definitely got some form issues with the number of their players.
I'm at the other end. I'm looking at their forward line. Yeah, okay. I'm thinking, okay, it's a different mix and they play a bit differently. They push right up the ground and get back. So maybe you have a bit more efficiency than locking forward half necessarily. But who really puts pressure on in there? Who's the guy?
Well, Mann is supposed to be the guy. Close is out of form. Yeah, and Close is going horribly. It's not going to be Neil or Cameron.
So they're on watch. They're on watch because I'm not sure it's a mulligan. I think it could be a fraction more.
