Chapter 1: What humorous moments do Garry and Tim share at the start?
Breakfast with Gary and Tim.
Great to have you with us this morning, yes.
Just off the temper text, you two buffoons telling me you got lost from Crown to SEN Studios five minutes away. Yes, we did, Tony. No, no. We ended up in the tunnel, and I'm prepared to accept my portion of the blame, but I'm not totally to blame. Mate, I wasn't driving at the time.
One buffoon, Tony. One buffoon directed us onto the freeway. We nearly ended up in Endeavour Hills. It's Cultural Heritage Round this weekend. Saints fans, get along this Sunday. Sunday, Arvo footy from just 20 bucks. The Saints at Marvel for Cultural Heritage Rounds. It gives us a chance to speak to a very impressive young footballer. Mitch Owens joins us on the line. G'day, Mitch.
Yeah, guys, thanks for having me on.
Hey, thanks for jumping on, mate. Hey, that game against Sydney, I know you didn't get the chocolates in the end, but, gee, there was so much to like about the way you played. What was Rossi, how did he review that? Because from where I sat, it was your best game for the year.
Yeah, I agree. Like you said, it was a tough one because we thought we played so well and gave so much effort.

Chapter 2: What is the significance of the Cultural Heritage Round for the Saints?
And to lose in the last 20 seconds, yeah, it was a really tough one. But at the end of the day, we were really proud with the way we played and how we responded after Hawthorne. And, yeah, as we all know, the Hawthorne game was not very good. So, yeah, we educated pretty hard that week and trained really well. And I think it really showed on game day.
Did it feel different? Did it feel, you know, St Kilda sides in the past have been defensively really strong, but, I mean, this thing flowed. I don't know the opposition play in a really attacking way as well, but you matched them in that first half particularly. I think you had 60 or 70 points on the ball by half-time. Did it feel different out there?
Oh, I can understand. I felt like we were all very much connected on the same page, and it was a fun way to play. Like you said, we scored... high 60s or 70 points in the first half and it's always fun scoring and getting the ball off and close to our goals so yeah I think it was a lot better way to play and yeah something that we can we build on each week.
Yeah the potential is to build on that as a forward though with that flow and the openers did you feel that you had a lot more looks than what you would normally get in a game?
Yeah definitely I think when you turn the ball over close to your goals and Especially off turnover, there's a lot more space.

Chapter 3: How did Mitch Owens perform in the recent game against Sydney?
And, yeah, we definitely felt that. I think previous weeks, sometimes we can build the ball up a bit slow and... Yeah, just get numbers back so it can be tough. But I thought on the weekend was a lot better for forwards and got better looks and a bit more space.
So, yeah, it's great. And did you think that Liam still had a little bit of that spring left in his legs?
No, I couldn't believe it. I had front row seats and I was in absolute shock.
Did he let you know about it? He looked like he was pretty happy with himself. He should be.
He's a bit of a character, so yeah, he had a bit of a laugh about it after the game.
How often does he restock the gum? He doesn't mind a chew during the game?
I haven't noticed, to be honest. Haven't you?
Oh, he's always chewing on the gum.
We've got gum on the bench, so there's a lot there. So I assume he's been jumping into those.

Chapter 4: What changes did the Saints make in their play style recently?
He's sadly got himself injured now. Where would you, in an ideal world, if you've got a list that's covered most bases, where would you like to play? Where do you see yourself?
Yeah, that's a good question. Probably that third or fourth forward. Yeah, I guess it can be a bit tough playing that key forward with a few injuries at the moment. It can be tough having those key defenders playing on you when you're undersized, so
I think once we get a few more availability back, being able to play that third, fourth hole will be a massive advantage, I guess, against a bit of a smaller defender. And then, you know, maybe a little pinch in the midfield would be nice. But, yeah, I still love playing key forward.
And, yeah, just using my strengths against the key defenders who may be bigger, but I'll say that as a bit of a strength, I can just outrun them a bit.
We like to work out what's going on off-field as well as on-field, but it's probably our greater interest. You're living with Jack Carroll, who's just had... Did he just hurt himself recently or not?
No, he got dropped. No, he... He got dropped. He just got dropped, yeah.
How's that? What sort of a... How do you pick him up after that? Is he?
Yeah, he can be tough, but just staying positive with him and, I don't know, just... I guess when we get home, we don't really talk a whole lot about footy, just watch TV, play a bit of PlayStation. So we don't talk about it a whole lot when we get home.
We're always fascinated, Gary and I, when we interview players and probably surprised at the high percentage of current AFL players that don't watch a lot of footy. Are you a footy nut? Do you watch a lot of the games or you try and get a break from it?
