A Derna ci sono cinquemila morti e i dispersi sono ventimila. Dopo aver colpito Spagna, Grecia e Turchia il ciclone Daniel è arrivato qui, nel nord est della Libia. Derna non era costruita per resistere a una grande alluvione, ma questo difetto di fabbrica non le era mai pesato – perché è posata su una riva arida del Mediterraneo dove piove pochissimo e il problema non esisteva.
