Supernatural Circumstances

An Exploration of Dark Art (with Mister Sam Shearon)

26 Sep 2022

Description

Is art the pathway to the less accessible, darker parts of our consciousness? It seems to be the way for us to examine and understand things that would be too frightening and ugly for us to connect to in a direct way.   In this episode, we’ll hear from Morgan as she addresses some scary tales and creatures that seem to have come from humanity’s darkest reaches. Later we will hear our interview with artist, Mister Sam Shearon. Mister Sam Shearon is a British dark artist born in Liverpool, England. Specializing in horror and science-fiction, his work often includes elements inspired by vintage tales of monsters and madmen, dark futures, post apocalyptic genres including cyberpunk and industrial wastelands and classic literature including H.P.Lovecraft’s The Call of Cthulhu, Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray and the modern classics Clive Barker’s Hellraiser and the Books of Blood all of which he has fully illustrated. He’s also designed scores of album covers and tour merchandise for a number of darker musical acts like, Rob Zombie, Ministry, Cradle of Filth and Rammstein. Supernatural Circumstances is a co-production of Entityseeker Paranormal Research and Teachings and Good Egg Studios. This podcast is a part of the CuriousCast Podcast Network. Theme music by Corey Johnson of Catalyst Records in Edmonton, Alberta.
