Hello, mate. You all right?
I'm all right. Back to old school.
Just the two of us. How it all began. That's it, mate, isn't it? It's a fucking trip back to the past. I can't believe it. It's like three years ago, mate. Yeah. It's three years ago, near enough to this sort of time where, well, it was April, I think it was, wasn't it, where it all started?
Well, I was thinking it was June when football came back. That's when we stunned the Derby game and spoke about that and stuff. So, yeah, it's about that time, June, July. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's mostly so, isn't it?
Not a bad journey, mate.
No. No, it's all good. We've lost people. We've inherited new people. We've found new people. We've got new people. We've got the website. We've gone super viral on TikTok.

Chapter 2: What are the latest transfer rumors surrounding Millwall?
So you can't walk to Prince's Park next season. And no kebab.
No kebab. And also, it means that you're safe. You won't be run over by the stolen car. That was so funny, mate.
That was so funny. Nicky saved my life, lost pretty easily about half of the way, let's say. Please chase on there, but you saved my life, mate, so thanks for that. I've fainted you a few times already.
That was so funny, though, wasn't it? Because those two coppers were walking behind us where they were just walking down, obviously, and the cars come flying around and then he's just waved down the other car, the police car will come about five minutes later and he went, oh, he's gone up there, and that's it, do you know what I mean? That was all the excitement, but
Yeah, Gazer took the corner about 70 miles an hour and could have wiped us both out. Well, definitely you. I was a bit more observant. I stepped back a bit and then I thought, shit, you're not moving. So you had to get back as well. So yeah, otherwise we wouldn't be here now having a podcast.
There you go. Lucky listeners. Or unlucky, whichever way you want to look at that. But mate, Mill put a statement out yesterday morning. They confirmed their pre-season schedule initially with four fixtures announced. It went on to say that Lions returned for pre-season on the 28th of June. That's the first day they report back to Kelman Road.
So at this time of recording, it's only seven days, eight days away, mate. So soon to come. And they're going to obviously go to Spain. Everyone's known that all while. And we'll talk about the lack of announcement of a fixture out there. in a minute. I'm sure you've got something to add into that one. But four fixtures announced, mate. Two away and two at home.
We've got Gilderland away on the 5th. Well, two at home, two away at the minute it's announced. So, 15th of July away at Gilderland, Priestfield Stadium at 1pm kick-off. We'll catch up to Meccano Stadium. Yeah, well, Ikea Stadium. And then a trip to Sutton United on the 18th, three days after that, on the Tuesday night, 7.45 kick-off, followed by two home games, mate.
We fast-forward a week later to the Tuesday night at home to nearest and dearest Charleston Athletic. And then we've got a C&F Lovefest against Porto de Sittard on 29th July, Saturday, 1pm kick-off.

Chapter 3: How does the new signing Kevin Nesbitt fit into Millwall's strategy?
And we were like, Yeah, mate, we'll be up for that. Do you know what I mean? A couple of days in Alicante would be great. You know, journey out, back. Great. Yeah, lovely. And then, yeah, they just, they fucking piss in your fireworks, don't they? Do you know what I mean? Same old, same old, same old, really, isn't it?
Well, we don't know for sure whether or not there would be a fixture out there. There's nothing obviously muted online about it. But it does say in the statement, the club is working to make arrangements for a further friendly, which will be accessible to fans. But this has not yet been finalised. The Lions will make a separate announcement should this change.
So, you know, let's keep looking at this glass half full, mate. But it would have been nice to have Fortuna sit out of the way. And I hope there's a reverse next season if things go to plan and everything goes well. And Flem is still a middle player. And we maybe sign one or two more from them or two ex-players from those. But yeah, obviously, I mentioned Sittard.
That'd be a great game, obviously. Foreign opposition coming to the den. Do you know them away? Neil Harris. A Neil Harris love fest, mate. Obviously, we went to the golf... No, not golf night. We went to the golf club for his celebration night. I don't know what they coined that as, a night with Neil Harris. Can't be not surprised by that one, to be honest, mate. Standard stuff, really.
Ex-Lions manager. Loves, you know, the love affair in there. It's good to see.
I think it's probably a cheaper option, isn't it? Because I can't say... I mean, you know, as much as... People, bear with me one second. My computer was going to reset itself. Contrary to what people believe, we don't get good fixtures and we don't get good opposition and all that. We have to pay for all these people and I don't think the club's going to pay big money for
a good team because someone like um arsenal or chelsea people like that you're probably looking 50 grand plus um to have a friendly and then you've got to obviously have the police bill and everything else on top of that which it's just pointless for a team where our budget and everything else i think it's just pointless it's a shame because the fans would love it but i think realistically we've got to look at it and go i'd rather them spend 100 200 grand
on someone's wages and get a player in who we need rather than just playing it for 90 minutes of football.
I guess it's double-edged, that one, because if it is a big Premier League club, you'd think they'd probably sell the gate out, probably at cheaper prices, so their families can come down and stuff. But yeah, I suppose that's what you say, it's to roll the dice for clubs to decide whether it's worth the risk or not.

Chapter 4: What challenges does Millwall face with player fitness this season?
You go, right, mate. You know, those are my all mates. You don't really associate with them, but they, and again, you're all part of the same thing. All right, mate, how you been? And that's one of those ones. But no, it'd be great to get going again, mate. When did we last play Gingham? Four years ago? Probably, yeah, four or five years ago. No, more than that.
It'd be League One, but it's six, seven years ago.
Maybe it's six years ago. That was the, from that game, was the day that Fat Dan never talked to me again or unfollowed me across everything. So, yeah, I was fine.
Six, seven years ago. I think we're going into our seventh season into the championship now. So, which is, yeah, another topic for another day though, mate. But you can also talk about your topic another day as well.
It's madness how you remember certain games, didn't you, with certain other memories that will fall into those galleons. Do you know what I mean?
I know there's two other features announced from the 21s. I know that Millwall 11 will play Bromley the same day as the Gillingham game. So that will probably be a mix and match of probably, you know, some reserves, some maybe first team. I think last season they split the games up, didn't they, to try and get more minutes in the legs. So I'm sure some first teamers will feature.
Who would you rather go see? Gillingham or Bromley? Bromley, definitely. But Julian will be a good one. Like I said, I'm going to be missing it, but that's just because it's pre-season and it's the first one back.
There's just as many ex-players in either team, isn't there?
It's true. Adam Dunn, obviously, Troy used to be involved there. Webster's still there. Yeah, you're right. George Alexander. You've got Aidan O'Brien, haven't you? I tell you what would have been nice, if they could have done it, is 12 o'clock kick-off Bromley game, 4 o'clock kick-off Julian game. So you could have done both if you waited in the same day.

Chapter 5: What insights do the hosts share about the upcoming Championship season?
I think he'll be a good... I think he's an experienced head and he's a good player. When he's fit, he's a good player. So I think... I'm happy with that signing. I'm happy that he's staying on for another year because he is... He's an absolute lad for us.
So, yeah. He's a workhorse. I think that's the most important thing for me. He puts a shift in when he plays. He's got, you know, he has a bit of an engine, in a sense, in the midfield. Offers legs, which is quite important. From the right centre-half position, I think, you know, he can carry the ball. Got forward for the goal against Blackpool, where he set the goal for Bradshaw's first goal.
He offers that sort of output. Like I said, my only reservation is, can he potentially keep doing it over the course of a season and be available for four or six games? Probably not. But hopefully he adds that value squad option when we need him, I suppose. Other transfer rumours, mate. What have we got? I mean, Luis Travis is one that keeps coming up.
blackburn rovers midfielder we have a random one that one but midfielder nonetheless played over 200 games for blackburn rovers and we're in for him mate i think he's 25 26 years of age um we've definitely made one bid for him but from what i've heard and what i've seen online and i think you're the same less than a million quid for their captain which i suppose in the championship that's
I think a lot of it is agent talking there because I can't see Blackburn coming out and saying, you know, we've rejected a six-figure fee or a bid. I can see his agent or someone connected to him doing it, but I can't necessarily see Blackburn. I think he's probably a little bit unprofessional to a degree, but you never know. There is loads. I mean, George Cox is another one.
Mm-hmm. That's true, yeah. I mean, just on Travis before we move on to that one, he's on a three-year contract still, mate, so he's tied up to Blackburn until 2026. As I mentioned, he's their captain, played a significant part in a lot of their games.
I think we were in a championship group where one of their fans was saying maybe they're trying to move on to a more progressive style of play and Travis is pretty much a defensive midfielder, likes to sit deep and break up play a bit more, which...
i guess is a george sabal sort of mold player potentially if that's the case um but you know maybe that kind of progression is in line there to try and bring in different options into midfields i mean i don't think midfield's a priority at the minute mate but it's interesting one i mean i think personally i think it's strike is what we need um more so than anything else um
Well, yeah, one to keep an eye on.

Chapter 6: How has Millwall's transfer strategy evolved over the years?
Well, there was an interesting video of Brian Platt, wasn't there? Someone on a night out, and Brian Platt says, I'm signing for Millwall. Again, hearsay, allegedly, and all that sort of shenanigans. But that was a funny one to see, mate, when he's saying, I'm going to sign for Millwall in the video. No, that's it. That's it. He said, mate, didn't he say, I'll see you soon, Millwall fans?
Yeah, yeah, I'll see you soon. Maybe we've just posted that. We've got it. So, yeah, because it did get deleted, didn't it? I think so. And then this Sittard fan said, we call Merck in the garden and the kitchen... In Dutch, it sounds better. He can't play good football, but he is very strong. And Brian Platt is more like Jake Cooper, but less of a leader.
Is that what he said?
Yeah.
Interesting. Interesting. We'll have to see how that goes. I think he's also keen to potentially do a show, if I'm not mistaken. So watch out for that one. Preview of the Fortuna-Sittard game in a few weeks' time. Yep.
Giving us some Dutch things. He's possibly going to write something of potential Dutch players we should be looking at. Who we're possibly not. But yeah, some players in there will give us an insight. I really hope that we get that. Is it Hoodie Honk?
Whatever his name is. He's an attacker, isn't he? Well, yeah, I mean, we're in the market for, in the foreign market, quite clearly in the European market and more specifically Holland. So, I mean, it served us well last season, mate. So it's worth dipping our toes back into it again, I suppose, right?
Yeah, and it seems so, doesn't it, that everybody is going after Dutch players at the moment, doesn't it? There seems to be a whole new... Since we got Fleming, all of a sudden now, Arsenal's looking to sign someone and Liverpool's looking to potentially sign someone and all of this. And you're thinking, fuck off, we were there first. Let us get the wee one first and then we go from there.
So, yeah.

Chapter 7: What are the implications of the club's recent management changes?
But... I'd be interested to see how he does, if it is Oxford he goes to, and how he develops next season, mate, nonetheless.
Yeah, I think he just needs to get regular games on rather than just being a substitute player and build his confidence and maybe get some attacking coaching and development behind him. And then, you know, maybe move on. He'd come into it late, though, didn't he?
He was at AFC Wimbledon, then he signed for us, was a 23s player at first under Harris, then got his opportunity on the route to come into the side, really, after his loan spell at Hartlepool. Obviously, that was the big one where he scored like three or four goals in seven games, got injured in League Two. I mean, I think he'll make a career for himself. Will he come back to bite us in the arse?
That's a wait and see moment, I think. It's going to be interesting.
That always happens, doesn't it? You know what I mean? You watch, we get looting in the fucking FA Cup and Fred will come back giving it fucking loads of big potatoes too, mate. You know what I mean?
I mean, this is it. I think some players are just amazing to see at certain clubs. Maybe under certain managers they play better. So, you know, the jury's out on Bury, I think, overall. For us, it's not really gone to plan. He's done well in certain games, but... It's been very few and far between, which is ultimately why he's going.
But to come back to the formation, it's interesting we're getting rid of a winger, mate, and we're not linked with wingers to sign. So I think another rumour that's going around is Linden Dykes. Obviously, that kind of materialised before we announced in this bit. It went quiet. But then I think it went kind of a bit busy again this week, didn't it?
With potentially Dykes being linked to the club again. So if we get another forward in, that could be three top, top forwards to have in the side. I mean, Dykes hasn't scored many goals, but his output in games seems to impress a lot of fans.
Yeah, I mean, again, I think the jury's out in there. There's a lot of fans that don't want him and a lot of fans that think he'll be, you know, he'll be a good addition.

Chapter 8: What can fans expect from Millwall in the upcoming season?
I think that's kind of what the club should be looking to do. I personally do hope and believe and feel like it'll be back to pre-season. Dill's already agreed. He's on holiday, comes back to Calumet Road, signs the contract, job done. That's what got instinct. But that's just pure hunch. He's always spoke really highly of the club.
He's always spoke really highly of John Barrowson and how much they've looked after him since he's been here, giving him long-term deals. You know, he's been here, what, five, six years now. I think it would be stupid to think he'd go elsewhere. I think he's even seven seasons going to with us now, mate. So I can only see it ending in a positive way.
But I think also he wouldn't let his contract run down and leave for nothing either. If the club were like, right, you're not signing a new contract, time to go. I don't think he'd kick up a fuss. I think it's quite a mutual kind of relationship, that one, isn't it? So hopefully it's just, like I said, next week, new contract signs and he's sticking around for a few more years.
If it's not, then yeah, I probably would sell him. I agree. No, I agree, mate.
I agree. So, yeah.
But that's, yeah, I mean, that's not much to report on the transfer front, mate. But hopefully this time next week or on Thursday, fixture release day. So there'll be another show hopefully going out soon on that one. But, you know, the fixture is starting to ramp up, mate. And everything's starting to come around for the new season, mate. Look forward to it.
Yes.
Sound more excited.
No, I think it's going to be good. I'm still sort of trying to go over last season where I think the biggest opportunity we've ever had in a long time and it proves it by the fact of the championship final and the fact that Luton's gone up and you're sort of like, fuck, that could have been us. You know, if we hadn't have just...
