Chapter 2: What challenges did Mike D face during his move?
Oh, my gosh. And listen, I've had so many fun adventures on Facebook Marketplace. You've heard about them. I've been looking on Facebook Marketplace. I feel like it's cheaper. It is, and some people will put brand new stuff on there. You find some gold items on there, but I will tell you, selling things on Marketplace, it is an adventure in itself.
I mean, I imagine it's probably hard just to get the person to even show up. Sometimes, yeah. Sometimes it's so funny that these people think you've known them your entire life. And there was one lady who was messaging me and she was like, I have my daughter's game at this time, so I can't come anymore. I'm like, I didn't need to know. I just needed to know that you couldn't show up at that time.
And then she proceeded to keep messaging me and was like, well, if my husband does this at this time, I'll be able to come there. I was like, I still don't need to know that. I just really need to know what time works for you. I am not your mom. It was that. It was these full personal exchanges. And then sometimes you show up and you get ghosted. Nobody even shows up. Yeah, I've heard of that.
So it's an adventure. It's fun. You have stories from it, but it's an adventure. More so like, honestly, if you could do it is selling it to friends and family or just selling it from your Instagram page. Maybe more trustworthy, but it is. It's fun. What's your favorite place about? Favorite thing about the new place? Ooh, that's a good question. And maybe you haven't had time to find it.
I would say my favorite thing so far is probably our driveway. Okay. Because our old place was like on a little hill and it caused us a lot of problems. Both of us fell in that driveway. During ice storms and stuff? Anytime it rained, you had to be very careful because it like wasn't real like... Concrete or gravel. I don't know what the material was, but when it rained, it got so slick.
And we also couldn't really park our cars comfortably. It was like we had to park behind each other, so somebody else had to leave the other person. So we had to coordinate who parks where. Oh, the carousel of cars is never fun.
But I think mainly the fact that it's no longer an injury hazard is probably my favorite thing so far because it's one of those things that you don't want to think about like... Am I going to fall down the hill and hurt myself? Isn't that funny? The things that you like take for granted, you don't realize are so important when you're staying somewhere.
I think it's always, it's always been like those little things that have been my favorite parts of places. Is the part where you fall down a lot? No, I mean, just like the little, little inconveniences that you don't realize affect your every day. And I think it's because how I grew up that I didn't, I always just learned to deal with those things. Cause I grew up in a trailer park.
I didn't have a bedroom probably until I was 15 years old when we moved out and first trailer out like outlets just didn't work. And you just kind of learned to deal with it. And then as I like moved into a house and then moved out, moved into apartments, you learn like, Oh, you can live in a place where things actually work.

Chapter 3: What benefits does Mike D find in his new living space?
I know your wife is super social, but would you like to entertain people? Would you like to host parties and things? Not really parties, but I would like to have, like, friends who live out of town come stay with us more. And, like, my family who hasn't been to visit, like, as a full family, like, that's kind of what I've been pushing towards them. Like, hey, we have space for you guys now.
Like, come visit. So I think that's where I'm more leaning towards, like, I've never been like I have people over to party unless it was like just drinking like out of a keg or something. So I don't think I'm like itching to host like a dinner party. But I think having like family over like everybody is kind of what I want. That's fair.
And that's that's also a cool part, too, of being an adult is when you have fun places to go visit and it's a free place to stay. That's a cool part. Like you want to go visit your friends because it's a cool free place to stay. So that's so exciting. And is this also the season that potentially you guys get a dog or a cat? You know, I don't think so. You don't?
I think my wife has kind of changed her stance on the dog for now. Really? Yeah. What changed? If you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to. I just think we thought about the responsibility of it. And she's kind of like, you know what? We can't really take a last minute trip if we have a dog. And we're trying to live to our full potential right now.
So I think she has put a pause on those paws. Does that pause... I saw the bun there. Does the pause also include then kids too? Because that would be another progression. Yeah, it's like all a part of it. It's kind of like... Yeah, steps, phases.
Let me ask you, do you guys feel because I know when we like I love my sister and my niece are there and I love squeezing on my niece and she's so cute. And I know you've probably seen like Bobby's baby and you get she's so cute. But then when you leave, like for me and my fiance, we're like, that's a lot of work. And I don't think that's for us. Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
I get like a shock of how real it is when you get to hand them off. Yeah, when you see that from a distance, you see how much work it is and how tired it makes people. Yeah. And it's kind of like outweighing the hard with the good parts of it. Because I see like how...
exhausting and constant it is but then i also see like another side of my group of friends who are like celebrating with their kids graduating or like going to disney with their kids or going to the movies with their kids like the fun moments and it's like oh yeah well you can't have one without the other No, you definitely have to have all of it.

Chapter 5: What are the challenges faced by Mike D regarding his social media interactions?
Once you've established that you have the talent, it's about the hang. It's the pleasure of hanging out with the people that you're with. You know, Rob and I was always a great hang. We would sit in kibitz for hours and then eventually get around to the music. That's what I mostly think of when I think of him. The time together, laughing.
Lawyer Robbie Kaplan.
The great gift of being a lawyer is the ability to actually change things in our society in a way that very few people can. I mean, you can really make a difference to causes in the United States if you bring the right case at the right time.
