Mabel Valdivia - Saving Haiti: Empowering the Poor Across Haiti

14 Dec 2021

Description

Mabel Valdivia is Executive Director at Fonkoze USA, the entity that oversees fund development and donor education for the broader Fonkoze family. A dedicated fundraising professional, she has twenty years of international and domestic non-profit experience and a deep commitment to international development issues that specifically impact women including micro-finance, agriculture, and health. Mabel’s desire to make an impact in the world is fueled by her own experiences as a child refugee. Mabel has a Master’s in Public Policy from American University and is currently pursuing her PhD.Fonkoze was created 27 years ago to bring financial inclusion and development services to Haiti's poor - providing them a viable way to lift themselves out of poverty. Today, we are a family of 3 organizations - Fonkoze Financial Services (SFF), Fonkoze Foundation and Fonkoze USA - that work together to empower Haitians, primarily women, to lift their families out of poverty. Fonkoze knows that poverty's many challenges are interconnected, and the solutions are as well. Our financial services and accompanying development programs are built to address the various levels and complexities of poverty in order to help our clients break the inter-generational cycle of poverty.
