Gavin Newsom told Charlie that men in women's sports was unfair, so why is his state still letting men humiliate women in major athletic contests? Charlie covers that with Sophia Lorey, then talks to John Yep about the newly-opened papal conclave in Rome and what Christians of all denominations should hope for in the next pope. Also, Charlie asks an extremely important question: Why is the far left so obsessed with poop? Chapter 1: Why is Gavin Newsom criticized for his stance on sports?
Hey everybody, Charlie Kirk here live from the Bitcoin.com studio. Yes, there are still men winning championships and taking them from women in the state of California. Gavin Newsom lied to me, of course he did, on my podcast with him. He is beholden to his state and to the radical left. We discussed that and also live from Rome, John Yep joins us and describes what the conclave is.
And then we also cover how you can make $70,000 a year without a college degree right out of high school. And then finally, why is the left obsessed with poop? Charlie, what you've done is incredible here.
Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus. I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks. I want to thank Charlie. He's an incredible guy. His spirit, his love of this country. He's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA.
We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country. That's why we are here. There are men still winning female championships all across the country. President Trump signed an executive order saying no men and female sports, but states are actively defying it.
They say, oh, what good is a president? Who cares if you want a popular vote? Who cares if 90% of the country doesn't want this? It's irrelevant to them. Well, the fight is on in California, of course, where Gavin Newsom told me that he had a problem with this. Was Gavin Newsom lying or is he too much of a coward to do anything about it?

Chapter 2: Are men competing in women's sports in California?
Well, joining us now is Sophia Laurie, outreach director for California Family and host of a This Is A Woman podcast. Sophia, welcome to the program. How are you?
I'm doing well. Thank you for having me on, Charlie.
So, Sophia, tell us the state of state of affairs, I should say, in California and a little bit nationally. Are men still winning competitions, awards and medals over female athletes?
Unfortunately, they are, especially in California. You know, Trump put out this great executive order. And just days later, CIF, who's the governing body of high school sports in the state of California, said, nope, we're not going to follow it. We're going to continue to allow boys to compete in girls sports. to be in their locker rooms, and we're seeing that happen this weekend.
We're going to watch a male who is right now first in three different track events compete against girls and beat out the girls for the position of finals.
So so tell us about A.B. Hernandez. So A.B. Hernandez, I actually brought up to Gavin Newsom. Let's start with this. Actually, let's play cut to 66. This is my conversation with Gavin Newsom. Play cut to 66. It's like you right now should come out and be like, you know what? The young man who's about to win the state championship in the long jump in female sports. That's that.
That shouldn't happen. You as the governor should step out and say no.
No, and I appreciate... But, like, would you do something like that? Would you say no men in female sports? Well, I think it's an issue of fairness.
I completely agree with you on that. So that's easy to call out, the unfairness of that. There's also a humility and a grace, you know, that these poor people are more likely to commit suicide, have anxiety and depression. And the way that people talk down to vulnerable communities is an issue that I have a hard time with as well. So both things I can hold in my hand.

Chapter 3: What are the parents in California saying about sports policies?
Yeah. And so I want to dive a little bit deeper into this. And so is it true that we actually have no idea how the magnitude of this? I mean, one thing the Trump administration could do is they could demand information that they could say, hey, we does we not only we prohibiting it, but we are requiring since you receive federal money to know if you have men and female sports.
You guys had to somewhat informally in a guerrilla tactic way compile this list. Is that correct?
Yeah, absolutely. It would be great to have that force being put on California, being put on CIF, because right now there is no way to fully track those schools and athletes that you listed off. That's just what we've been able to pull together. But we know it's happening up and down our state and more than we can even imagine.
So if we could get President Trump to come in and force California to start keeping track, that would be phenomenal.
What is the rank and file of parents in California? What are they saying about this? Is Word starting to really get out the fact that there is now dozens of these instances of men winning female championships?
Word is definitely getting out. Parents are truly extremely upset in the state of California. We saw just two years ago a study come out showing that 68% of Californians do not agree with boys and girls sports. So this is a winning issue in California, yet our governor is doing nothing. Our Democrat legislators are constantly killing bills on this topic.
And so the parents are ready for there to be a change. We saw when there was the Save Girls Sports bills hearings, 100 people showed up to urge a yes vote. We're getting people to show up this Saturday. Parents are showing up to school board meetings across the state of California and urging people to save girls sports.
So no matter what people like to think about California or say California is a lost cause, it's absolutely not, and the parents are fighting back.

Chapter 4: How can Californians take action to protect women's sports?
In closing here, what are the marching orders? And also, I do want to ask, does this also mean that the boys who are stealing these girls' championships, do they get access to the girls' locker room?
Yes. Currently in the state of California, since 2013, boys have been allowed to access locker rooms and bathrooms, the girls' locker rooms and restrooms. And so... It's been a big issue and we need to put an end to that.
And the way people can get involved and make a difference is CIF is acting like Californians don't want this change, that Californians don't want to stop boys being in girls' locker rooms and sports teams. So we need to make sure CIF knows Californians and Americans are over with what California is doing. So at CaliforniaFamily.org, we just launched a petition urging CIF to save girls' sports.
So if people can sign up for that, We'll get that in the hands of CIF and to their president, John Becker, and make sure they know where we stand.
Very good. And again, the Gavin Newsom cowardice is remarkable, not speaking out on this and saying what he said on the podcast. He is such a fraud through and through, if I may use that language. If A.B. Hernandez is to win the state championship in track and field, I hope that there is nationwide disgust and disdain for this. They say, oh, you're picking on trans athletes. No, no, no.
These trans athletes are picking on women. Get your words right. Thank you so much, Sophia. Talk to you soon.
Thank you.
So you've heard me talk about Patriot Mobile for a while now. You probably already know that for years, they've stood in the gap for every American that believes that freedom is worth fighting for. They are the real deal. So if you switch to Patriot Mobile, look, it's very simple. It's a binary choice. Either you are giving your money via your mobile bill to a woke company or a patriotic one.
You're probably giving it to a woke one. But you might say, oh, Charlie, they have worse coverage. It's actually better. Patriot Mobile is one of the few cell phone providers that operates on all three major networks. If you're listening to this podcast right now on a phone, Why don't you have Patriot Mobile?

Chapter 5: Why is AI considered a threat to traditional jobs?
I had them printed out for us, but here's in The Wall Street Journal. High school juniors with $70,000 a year job offers. Companies with shortages of skilled workers look to shop class to recruit future hires. Quote, like I'm an athlete getting all the attention from all these pro teams. This is not people with sociology degrees. This is not people studying communications.
This is not people studying North African lesbian poetry. No, it is high school juniors with $70,000 a year job offers in Philadelphia. Elijah Rios won't graduate high school until next year, but he already has a job offer, one that pays $68,000 a year. Rios, 17 years old, is a junior taking welding class. at a Catholic high school.
Employers are dealing with a shortage of workers as baby boomers retire. They've increasingly begun courting high school students like Rios. By the way, this is why we should not import cheap labor. This is a perfect example. If you import a bunch of cheap labor, yes, companies get labor for less, but then Rios would not be offered $70,000 a year.
It's a perfect example of you restrict the labor market and high schoolers benefit. Now, mind you, Rios does not need to go to college. He doesn't need to get a four-year degree. There are 11 million job openings right now where you can work with your hands. It's the muscular type labor that pay more than a living wage. $68,000 a year.
I know a lot of people that would want a job for $68,000 a year. At age 18, no college debt, no indoctrination, no lazy river. $70,000 a year. Jenny Cantrell, 18, is working at Conestrano, a plumbing and HVAC mechanical contractor. Hosted her in a summer camp in Massachusetts. She credits the camp for piquing her interest in plumbing and accepted Castorano's job offer without looking elsewhere.
Quote, I already had that connection, she says. That's right. This is a long piece in the Wall Street Journal that details how now kids are getting high, high-paying jobs in the trades. If you can make $70,000 right out of high school right now, you most certainly should not go to college. And it's not just tuition, but it's your time as well.
It's the compound interest of the extra earnings of those four years. But let me tell you the biggest problem. The biggest problem is not the kids. The biggest problem is not the trades. It's all of you listening right now that are parents that are afraid and ashamed of turning to your neighbors and saying that my kid is a welder.
You as a suburban parent think that you are a failure if your kid does not go to University of Iowa. You as a suburban parent think that your kid is a failure if he doesn't go to CU Boulder. That if you turn to your neighbors and turn to your relatives and you have Christmas and Thanksgiving, and they say, oh, what is Elijah doing? Oh, Elijah's a welder. They'll scoff.
They'll look as if you failed or you fell short. Parents, stop making decisions based on the social currency from snobbish elitist left-wing politicians. socialites that act as if you need to make your decisions because you don't have the Stanford mom bumper sticker on your Lexus.

Chapter 6: What are the benefits of vocational education over college?
Hillsdale College offers more than 40 free online courses. That's right, free online courses on subjects like the Book of Genesis, the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, the history of the ancient Christian church. It's hard for me to even say which is my personal favorite. You guys have got to take these online courses.
They've recently launched a new course, Understanding Capitalism, that I've been watching. In seven lectures, you'll learn about the role of profit and loss, how human nature plays a part in our economic system, why capitalism depends on private property rights, the rule of law, and above all, freedom, and why capitalism is ultimately a system that encourages morality rather than undermines it.
Right now, go to charlieforhillsdale.com to enroll. There's no cost, and it's easy to get started. That's charlieforhillsdale.com to register. C-H-A-R-L-I-E forhillsdale.com. Right now, there is a conclave happening in Rome. Now, I am not Catholic, but I have great reverence for the Catholic Church and for Catholics. And some of our audience is Catholic, some of our audience is not Catholic.
But this should matter to everybody. This is arguably the most high-profile religious official ever. on the planet. It involves geopolitics. It involves issues of morality. And helping us to unpack that is John Yep, who runs Catholics for Catholics. He is live from Rome. John, great to see you. Thank you for taking the time.
First, educate our audience on what is a conclave, who is voting, and what can we expect?
Great to finally be on the Charlie Kirk Show. What a way to do it. Right here from Rome with an incredible view of St. Peter's Basilica behind me. You mentioned conclave, Latin word for key. So what just happened about two hours ago, 136 men journeyed over to the Sistine Chapel designed by Michelangelo. They locked themselves in, all their electronics were taken from them. And what are they doing?
They don't come out. Those cardinals don't come out until... They, together with Barrett, choose the man that will lead 2 billion Catholics around the world. So that's what a conclave is. This is a tradition that goes back almost really to the foundation of the church 2,000 years ago, and it's a special moment for Christians and non-Christians alike around the world.
And so they're going to meet. What exactly happens in these deliberations? And what is the process? And this is very rare, right? I mean, this is only the third time in my lifetime that such a conclave is occurring.
It is rare. So what's happening? Obviously, we know that Pope Francis died the day after Easter, right after J.D. Vance and him had that special moment together halfway. And then these past two weeks have been extremely, extremely important, Charlie, because, you know,
