The Comment Section with Drew Afualo
COORDINATED AND CLOSETED Ft. Blake Silva | Episode 211
04 Mar 2026
Chapter 1: What kind of comments does Blake receive on his PR?
I'll get the comments on my PR sometimes. My four-year-old would love this. And I'm like. Okay. Okay. Your four-year-old doesn't need Everyman Jack Spider-Man body wash, but. Okay. Okay. Hey, everyone, and welcome back to another episode of the Comment Section Show, starring me, your fave. Everybody knows me and cares about me. On to the guests today.
We have the icon, the legend himself, Blake Silva, a.k.a. Blake's Pop Nook. Oh, my gosh. There was no way that was about me. Oh, my God. The icon, no. Welcome to the show, King. oh my gosh, I am taking it in. I am thinking about paying rent here. This is so cool. Thank you.
Chapter 2: Who is Blake Silva and what is his background?
Can I be honest? You came when we're on our fancy studio time because you haven't seen some of the trenches we've been in filming the show. We had a summer where we filmed in a literal like storage house with no AC. You know what? And thank God to my guests. I appreciate you. That's how we got here today. Yeah. So you came to the boosh time. I love that. Thank you. AC is important. Yeah.
I'm so glad that we are in this space when we have Blake's Pop Nook on. Oh my God. Period. This episode is presented by Too Good & Co. Creamer. My go-to coffee is an iced vanilla latte personally, but whether you enjoy your coffee hot, cold, bold, or frothy, if you wanna take it up a level, Two Good Creamers make every sip a good one. Why?
Because they're made with farm fresh cream, real milk, and contain three grams of sugar per serving. That's 40% less than the five grams per serving in leading traditional coffee creamers for a rich, creamy, and delicious experience. Find Two Good Creamers in the creamer aisle. You're my first Disney creator. Wait, I love that so much. So I tune in, obviously.
I watched the episode talking all about Disney adults. Yes! Literally two weeks ago. With Maggie? Yeah. First of all, I don't know, is it called Subway Takes?
yes subway i ate that up when i saw her and of course i'm like sitting on my couch like yes like please like vouch for us yeah yeah literally it's for us too um so i loved that episode also like thank you so much for the sweet shout out oh my god are you kidding i talk about you all the time i think i shout your name from the rooftops every time someone's like oh disney creators i'm like blake's pop nut copies like i think about you and uh megan the magical millennial oh
My queen. I told her I was coming here today because I saw another episode where you mentioned her and her mystery pin Monday. Big shout out mystery pin Monday. So I love that. I told her I was going to be here. Yeah. I'm so excited. Oh my God. I'm so excited to have you.
I need to tell you when I first discovered you because I obviously your blind boxes have been amazing and I love to watch them. But honestly, watching you complete sets of mystery pins. I was on that bitch. Listen. I was on that. I was like, oh my God, is it going to be the one? Every time I watch your video, I'm like, is it going to be the one? Oh my God.
Like I saw you complete the Zootopia Molly one. Yes. How ironic. You said I didn't want the whole collection and then you had to finish the collection. Okay. So I will be completely honest. My phone is in my bag and the screen is open because I am uploading a TikTok right now. But it's from another, so there's other ones. They're not from the same set.
But it's something that I said I wouldn't buy and here I am. And I said in the video, you're all gonna clock me because I always say, I'm not interested in the whole set. And then there we go. And when you say that, the universe makes sure you complete the set before you get the one that you want. Yeah, okay, but thank you for locking in.

Chapter 3: How did Blake get into content creation?
Branding. Yeah. So added my name. I won't get into it right now. I could tell you later, but there's some drama with my username right now where I had a little situation recently. So I'm actually kind of rebranding, but it's just me. So my handle on TikTok currently is just Blake Silva and YouTube and stuff. I don't have it on Instagram yet, but that's just the goal.
It's become such an extension of just my truest self that I'm like-
true like it's it's a multifaceted thing yeah like it's it's gone so far beyond totally like just and when people say hi and stuff it's like are you Blake Silva they don't say are you the pop nook or whatever anymore so I've sort of like grown into this like different space yes I love Disney yes I love pins but like it's become this like really cool new thing yeah and that's what I want anyway and I also like really believe in the like
creator to talent pipeline. Like I want so much more than just like making videos. So that's like long way around to be like, that's how I got into it. But I went full time when I got laid off because I just was, the new like rewards program on TikTok came out and I was like, wow, I just made like four months of salary pay in one month on TikTok. No, dead ass. And so I was like, okay, like sure.
Yeah, for real. It's one of those like, okay, I think this is like, that was gonna be my next question is when you felt like, okay, I think this is becoming a thing. Yeah, and I wasn't sure. I never would have quit my job for it. Right, same. Yeah, I never would have been like, I'm going to do it, and I'm going to take the leap. I just kind of got pushed. Right, same.
And I always just say that press set me free. They didn't let me go. That's so T. Yeah. That's so T. And I know your story, too, because I'm a fan. No, you're right, though. And sometimes I joke, and I'm like, you guys want to be famous on TikTok, you got to get fired. No, literally. Literally. Don't do that. Go to your boss. No, I'm just kidding. Go do something fucked up and get fired.
Please let me go. No. Yeah. No, for real. But you're right. Because I feel like even though we've only hung out a couple of times, I really do feel like you're like me in the sense of, you know, this is great and this is fun. And I really do want to do this. But I have responsibilities. Yeah. Which is how I was like paying rent. Right. Like I have bills. Yeah. Like I have to feed myself.
Like there are things that I have to take care of. So it was the same thing for me, even though I wasn't creating content or anything at the time I got fired. It was one of those where like I was never going to leave. Like I had to be shoved. It's like off the edge in order to actually pursue it. And even then, like, I was so lost after I got fired.
I was like, never in my life had I ever felt like that before. So it really did kind of like just happen like the same way that you're describing it happened. Oh, shit, girl, you're telling me. It's so cool. I don't know. I'm like so grateful. I literally like every time I'm in a space, I mean, I think a little healthy imposter syndrome is good sometimes because it keeps you like grounded. Yeah.

Chapter 4: What are the challenges of dealing with online hate and bigotry?
The way that I move in this business, everything I've built and the way I've built it, what on earth makes you think that I would let bigots hang out in my house? I really do feel like I have an endless can of Raid with them.
I'm like, every fucking time I post anything about how much I fucking hate ICE, anytime I talk about trans women, anytime I uplift gay people, every single time, I'll have at least one dumb white person in my shit going, wow, really? Wow, again. Unfollowing. I know. Every time they ask me, do you care if I, oh, so you want me to unfollow you? Yes. Yes. Yes, I do. Yes. Oh my God, you got it. Yes.
Yes, please, yes, leave. And you don't need to tell me.
Chapter 5: How does Blake handle PR gifts and comments about them?
That's okay. Well, the flip side of hate is sometimes just when people say stuff and it's so, maybe they don't even mean it. So example, this is my favorite example of comments that I get. So very blessed and lucky to get cool PR, right? So with PR, especially in the Disney space, whatever, They're stingy in the Disney space. Oh, totally. But, like, I feel so lucky every time.
But, you know, sometimes, like, they're sending, like, toys. Like, I collect stuff. Like, I love to post about those things. So, like, obviously I know that, like, it's something that kids like too. Yeah.
Chapter 6: What is the significance of giving away items received from PR?
But I'll get the comments on my PR sometimes. My four-year-old would love this. And I'm like, Okay. Okay. Your four-year-old doesn't need Everyman Jack Spider-Man body wash, but... Okay. Okay. But it's always so funny because I love that comment because I'm like, I don't think that you're trying to drag me, but drag me. Yeah.
They're like, oh my God, my impressionable young child also loves that stuff. Yeah, yeah. Wait, where do I get this for my three-year-old? Right. And you know what? Sometimes, because people ask also, just addressing the questions, what do I do with everything? Yeah. I give a lot of it away, to be honest. Me too, yeah. It's good, too. You can give it to somebody who really, really wants it.
I love a lot of the things that I receive, but you can't keep everything. Oh, my God, no. We would drown in it. The way there's so many things. Yeah, so sometimes I get the comment, my four-year-old would love this, and I message them, and I send it to their four-year-old.
Chapter 7: What advice does Blake have for aspiring content creators?
Oh, I love that. That's really sweet. It's great. I'll send over the whole PR box, and I'm like, here, now your child with this body wash can smell like teakwood and tobacco. I don't know. Enjoy. Yeah, literally. But on the hate comment train as well, I feel like people, besides being gay, it's like overconsumption, final boss. And I'm like, fork found in kitchen. Well, you're also a collector.
And I'm squeezing joy out of this life. My bad. My bad. I don't know. And yeah, I totally see it. I know that I am capitalist, final boss. I buy stuff all the time. Right. But I don't know, it's worth it to me to spark joy. We circle back to critical thinking. So it's like, is this black and white mentality helpful? Is it a solution? Or is it just to bitch and moan and get a viral mean comment?
That's really what I think a lot of times about shit like that. Because it's like, you're nitpicking people for no reason. Especially you're a collector. That's different. Like that's very different from buying shit and throwing it out. Totally. Like buying shit, throwing it out, buying shit, throwing it out.
Like even with all of the shit that I get to, like I give away 90% of it because I just don't need that much stuff ever. But also when it's like to a point where no one in my personal life needs it or wants it, I donate it to women's shelters, to boys and girls clubs. Like there are lots of ways. And take note of those because you don't always have to give to Goodwill. Exactly.
And that's like, and that's where a lot of times I'll, I'll drop off beauty products, especially feminine products, like anything like that. This is a side note, but I have an entire drawer of like probably about 30 vibrators and I that's just my truth. That's just my truth. And it, believe it or not, no one wants to take those every time they come over to the house.
I'm like, who needs a vibrator? Anyone need one? Let's get into it. It's their gender list. Do whatever you gotta do. I really don't care. Just get it out of my home. Like I literally look like a sexual deviant. That's just like the drawer. That's just like a piece of scotch tape. Literally Carrie's laughing because she's been in my office and she made said drawer full of vibrators.
She was like, okay, so all the vibrators are in this drawer. Thanks girl. And sometimes when I, when I have guests come over, I'll make little like baskets for them or whatever. Yeah. And so I made one for my girlfriend, and I put a vibrator in there. And I put a bunch of other shit, too. It wasn't just creepy, weird shit like that. I put other shit in there, too.
And then later, I want to say a year later, she was like, and I wore that thing out, bitch. I was like, okay. I'm so glad I brought you joy. I'm so glad. But you know what? On the topic of giving things away even, just because I'm not posting, come with me to donate. Exactly. Because I'm not doing it for that. Exactly. I'm doing it because I just want to give it to somebody else.
Or when the fires happen, I live in San Gabriel Valley. I was literally like could see the Eaton fire from my living room window. Like it's close. So like you, there's always stuff going on where like there's people who need stuff way more than I do. Absolutely. So I feel like that's important. Well, yeah, and it is. And it's also, again, it's like, again, critical thinking.
