Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Sometimes I'll get invited to stuff and I'm like, what time does it start?
Oh my gosh. That is the crossroad I constantly face when I'm trying to get back into stand-up comedy.
Oh yeah.
Cause like, yep, you bet, you bet. 11 p.m. Your slot. You're like, 11 p.m. ? I have a toddler. Like, I would be woken up at 4 a.m. to like a sticky hand slap. Talk about something. Mommy, what does a zebra say? Like, that is my morning. Every morning. Do you know what a zebra says, Drew? I still don't. No. I never have an answer to that question.
Hey everyone and welcome back to another episode of the comment section show starring me, your fave, everybody knows me, who cares about me. On to the guests. Today we have the iconic, the hilarious, the legendary Amber Wallen.
This is an applause track, right? Yeah, yeah. Hey Amsterdam. Welcome to the show. I'm so happy to have you. I'm proud of myself for being here. Like, seriously, it's like learn how to ride a bike, learn to read, be on Drew's show. I'm very excited to be here today.
All on the checklist. Yeah, I don't have to do anything else the rest of the year. I'm honored. That's so awesome. I'm such a big fan of yours. We've been like, I feel like passing ships. We've been passing each other a minute.
Yeah, there's definitely like an evidence web of us almost coming together.
Totally. And so it happened.

Chapter 2: What funny moments do Amber and Drew share about their partners?
And I remember the next, he's like, text me what time it starts. And I was like, okay. So I didn't text him because I thought he was just being nice. So I just didn't like, I just didn't do anything. I didn't invite him, nothing. And then he texts me like hours after he knew that it had already started. And he was like, Hey, I thought you were going to text me. Like what time did it start?
And I didn't text until the next day. And I was like, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I fell asleep. And then I had to take him to practice and I just completely forgot. Like I made up some shit. And then he texts me back. I remember he was like, you didn't forget. You just didn't want me to come. And I was like, that's not true. I didn't want you to come.
I just thought maybe you were just saying that because of me over explaining.
I mean, we learned in that moment, like, oh, he's going to confront issues when they first arise.
We love that.
I was like, damn, what am I, on trial? Not passive aggressive?
Ooh, that's hot. He's like, no, I was dead serious. So like, tomorrow starts at 12. Okay, I'll be at your house. And he was at my house like 45 minutes early. And I was like, Okay. All right. Is he on time? Is Ben on time?
Oh, no.
No, I'm always late. So I've made him super late, but like he was never late before he started dating me. He was always so early.

Chapter 3: What challenges do Amber and Drew face as parents?
How far in were y'all at this point?
A month. Probably a month. Yeah. Wow. I was like, oh, yeah, sure. And so he was like, if you get back, please tell me. And so I got back in time. And so I drove to his house. And I remember this was my first time ever going to his parents' new house. And I had met his parents briefly because we went to high school together.
Oh, he won't show off the house.
yeah yeah but I didn't know I see the strategy yeah I didn't like uh I hadn't met them in forever I hadn't seen his brother in forever so like um this was my first time meeting them as like dating him and so I remember I pulled up and I had to park kind of far down the street because there were so many people at the house and he saw my car from far away and he ran down the street to my car and he like opened my door for me and then he like he kissed me and he was like I really missed you that was the first thing he said to me and I was like
fuck fuck i was like i'm in love fuck damn it fuck let me get back in this car and hit you with the car because there's no way you're real yeah there's no way i was so overwhelmed i was like oh and he was like yeah come on i want to i want to introduce you you want to show you the house yeah how was the house it was nice oh yeah nice house like look we got some good crown molded up in here i was like i want to be a part of this white people shit uh-huh look at these

Chapter 4: How did Amber and Ben's relationship start?
Look at these floors all waxed and shit.
I love that. It was the beginning of the end for me. At that point, I was like, oh, damn it.
A little piece of me died that day. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The Grinch's heart.
I'm so curious, too. How has Ben been with all the content and all the attention that you guys get now as a couple?
I've created a monster, Drew. I don't know what to tell you. One day you give the man a speaking role and the next day he's a guest star, then a co-star. And then you look up and you're the supporting character in the story. You know what I'm saying? We're at that stage. He loves it.
I've actually taught him how to... Of course, we love making content together, but I've also taught him how to edit and stuff too. So I'm like, yes, I can duplicate. Sometimes he doesn't quite get it right. Nobody wants to work these days. But sometimes he... he really gets it right. And I'm just kind of like, that was actually a little better than my edit. So you ate that one little thing.
You ate that one.
You're not getting a bonus, but I will do a pizza party, you know? So he's actually really great at helping me and, and helping me with like business stuff. Like, I think we really underestimate like how many business things need to get done. He's like, you need to make this like official government business, like on paper. I was like, what do I look like? changing the toner ink on the printer.
Like that's crazy. Like you check the mail. Some stuff is man work. You know what I'm saying? I don't want to do. I'm not doing that. Yeah. I'm not doing it. So he's good at like sending invoices.

Chapter 5: How do Amber and Drew navigate their careers and personal lives?
And then as you create more, the racism is a little bit more nuanced, which I can appreciate. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like getting a little bored. Right. Like I can't, I can't deal with this. Like the, what is this like slave and master trope here? But now we're getting more nuanced. Like, yeah. Oh, she's the angry black woman, blah, blah, blah. Okay.
You know, still bad, but we're getting better. Right.
We're moving, I guess, forward. We're lateral. I don't know what you would. Yeah.
It's slow, but it is progress.
Yeah.
Whereas now I'll be honest with you. Like Ben and I kind of made a rule in our relationship that like, Because it's so hard, right? It's so hard not to read your comment section or whatever. So we made a rule that we will never bring up comments in either of our sections to each other. And that now has lent itself to me not even reading them as much.
Well, that's good. I mean, like, whatever protects your piece, too. Especially as a creator. Especially for us, like, when you're full-time creators, like, you're constantly posting comments. Any sort of content on any platform. And so having to look at comments all the time can be exhausting. Especially when you're in an interracial relationship, I can only imagine.
It's just like having to see that shit all the time. I'm good. Yeah.
And it's so old to you, right? Like I don't wake up every day and think like, oh, he's white. Yeah. Like we've been together for like 10 years now. So I'm like, oh, like maybe year one was like some awkward cultural things. And of course, cultural things still happen. But it's kind of like it goes. It's like you have a nose ring. You're like, well, I know I have it.

Chapter 6: How do Amber and Drew handle online criticism?
So Ben's birthday is on Thursday, which is two days from today. Yes. And I'm going to know tomorrow.
It's literally tomorrow. Oh, my God. I literally was like, I'm with you. I'm with you.
It's literally tomorrow. I'm very convincing.
Yeah, you are. I will tell you.
You're like, it's not that day. But I was like, yeah, confidence, you know. So I'm going to try today to bake a cake.
I've never baked a cake from scratch.
Yes, like a dummy. I texted my friend even, and she was like, do you have a mixer? I was like, no, but I got confidence. And a dream. And I got strong arms. I got willpower. Right.
I got fight in me. You know what I'm saying?
So what can we do? I'm really going to try hard to make him a cake.
