Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
This is an iHeart Podcast.
Guaranteed human. It's that time to put on your jersey and wave your flag, whoever you root for.
Why do I watch the World Cup?
That's like asking me, why do I breathe? and it's beautiful. The guys are young and cute and fit. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I like watching it with my dad. It's a connecting force.
Chapter 2: What are the heaviest drinking World Cup countries?
From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Echavarri, and this is American Football, a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. Listen to American Football on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Why should you listen to Armstrong and Getty On Demand? We're not boring. A lot of news is boring. And tedious. And depressing. And makes you angry. You don't want to live your life like that. How about something about a comedic tone?
Have a winner. Yes. Listen to Armstrong and Getty on demand on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm CJ Toledano. It's our favorite time of the year on our podcast point game, the playoffs.
We're digging into the biggest surprises of the season, and I'm looking back on some of my greatest playoff moments. If we didn't talk ever again, I was fine.
You just understood.
That's how personal it got. Wow. Then after that game seven, Marquis coming to, he's like, you know, I love you, dog. You know, it's all love. This was just playoffs. This was just basketball.

Chapter 3: What is the surprising resume of South Korea in sports?
Yeah, let's take a break. Get some more phone calls coming up. Update our poll results as well. Once again, this looks like a nice parade. Part of me is surprised. Not disappointed, but maybe the time of day. 10 in the morning, maybe less drinking. All the idiots late at night in New York, that's when the damage happened. But, yeah, they seem very well behaved here. We'll take a break.

The buzzing from the stadium, the chanting from the fans, the announcers calling the place. Soccer. Football. It's home.
Why do I watch the World Cup? That's like asking me, why do I breathe?
I inherited that fandom from my mom.
I like watching it with my dad. It's a connecting force.
From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Echavarri, and this is American Football, a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots.

Chapter 5: What challenges are faced in the release of Caitlin Clark's shoe?
Yes, Todd?
And you end up 30 blocks away. That is quite the distance for someone to get there that early and not get anywhere near it.
They sounded like they're a little tuned up there, too. Yes, Dylan? Sitting at a bar and watching the parade sounds infinitely better than standing there and watching the parade in person. Yeah, but these guys wanted, they're Knicks fans. They wanted to be in the middle of it. You're still in New York. You're in the zip code. Actually, they might not be. They might be in a different zip code.
Yes, Paul. It looks like they're there for a totally different parade.
This month.
Oh, whatever you want. They got a lot of pride in their Knicks. Yes, they do. They'll be down in the village later. Oh, man. Right there. That pretty much sums up our show if you're watching on Peacock. That's Anthony with his shirt off. He's looking nonplussed. He's looking very white is what he's looking.
An emotionless, shirtless young man.
Let me see. Tripp in Vegas. Hi, Tripp. What do you have for me? Hey, DP. Always good to speak with you all. I've got a couple of guys out here. working on some My Father Blues. Evidently, you've cornered the market. People are all over it now that you've mentioned it on the show. And I had a question for you.
On Monday, when you were talking about bringing back hand checking, I have a question for you about Marvin. So with longer-than-average arms but smaller-than-average hands, he would never be called for hand checking, but could he get called for tickling? Tickling.

Chapter 6: How does Nike's marketing strategy affect Caitlin Clark?
My daughter is getting married in April. And from the minute she got engaged, my biggest concern was losing it, sobbing uncontrollably at her wedding during my speech.
Okay. Now my biggest concern is that I'm going to be laughing hysterically thinking about you during my speech. Well, why would you have a bone to pick with me? Because you're going to be laughing and not crying? Yes. Okay. Well... Yeah, sure. Go ahead. Whatever helps you get through the speech, Mike. If I could laugh at you and it helped me with my speech, I would do that as well. Thank you.
Good luck. Good luck. Everybody's got advice, you know? Like, everybody's a tough guy until they get smacked in the face, right? Isn't that what Tyson said? Everybody's a tough guy until you get punched in the face. Everyone's got a plan until you get punched in the mouth. Yeah, that's it. Everybody giving me advice. I'm sorry. I can't do what you do or you did. Jay in Tucson. Hey, Jay.
Thanks for taking my call. Appreciate it. Five, nine, a cool 15. Before I say anything, I want to tell you that my wife was stalking you last week. She was in Connecticut with my daughter and went out of her way to drive by your building and took a picture and sent it to me, which was pretty cool. But what I want to talk about is nobody's, I don't hear the conversation about why any NFL team
would think about taking Brendan Sorsby when he's proven that he'll gamble on his own team.
I mean, if you're an NFL team and you take him and he relapses, aren't we all going to say to them, you should have known?
I mean, I don't understand why anybody would even take the guy. Look, I'm not begrudging the guy. to get a job and have a career.
Yeah, but, you know, Jay, and I'm not using this as a pun, but there's always going to be one team to gamble on, you know, somebody who's a little suspect. It's baggage. How much baggage? How good is he? This is a lot of baggage. And if I'm Arizona or Cleveland or some of these teams that might need a quarterback or the Jets, I'd be like, nope, don't do it. Don't do it.
And look, maybe he turns out to be a good pro, and maybe he doesn't have any issues moving forward. But I can't take that risk, certainly at that position. Can't do it. Thank you, Jake. Jeremy in Ohio. Hi, Jeremy. Hey, Dan. How are you today? Great. I got two things for you. So I live in Springboro, just north of Mason.
