They met at a trail running event 8 years ago in a case of love at first site. Since then, they set up their coaching business Squadrun and have helped thousands of runners of all ability achieve things they doubted were possible.On the 26th of February 2022 Kerry Suter went into Rotorua’s Whakarewarewa forest on a mountain bike. He was taken out in a rescue helicopter. This mountain bike ride was to be the final piece of movement for the supremely fit superhuman. I caught up with Kerry and Ali in what has become their home since the accident, a spinal unit in Auckland. This conversation was recorded in May 22, less than 3 months after the accident. Its not an easy listen. We laughed a lot- humor is a big coping mechanism for these legends.
