Chapter 1: What are the highlights of Rand Paul's confrontation with Markwayne Mullin?
The hearing right now, I mean, it's pretty crazy because Rand Paul just kind of came out swinging from the beginning and said, essentially, because a lot of people don't realize, but back when Rand Paul was assaulted, he was assaulted in Kentucky a few years back. I believe it was a couple years back. By a neighbor, right? Yeah, by a neighbor. He had six broken ribs.
And Mark Wayne Mullen back then or in the years followed, essentially kind of said that Rand Paul essentially deserved it. That's kind of. The high level overview and Rand Paul went after him and was like, what the hell is wrong with you? Why would you condone that? That's violence. I don't know that someone as violent as you could or should serve as DHS secretary.
But I think the bigger revealing thing is what's happening literally right now, right before I hopped on. Mark Wayne Mullen, I don't know if you saw, he didn't fully disclose his travel. So he had official travel that's technically classified. He didn't disclose it to the FBI and he won't say it on the record.
And Rand Paul is now threatening to push a vote tomorrow on the confirmation until whatever this classified official travel is is revealed. Oh, wow. So twists and turns. Yeah, lots of twists and turns. Rand Paul is going for the jugular. But what is that? I mean, is this something, though, Aaron, that would prevent him from getting confirmed? Because I don't think that there's anything.
Republicans are going to fall in line, but it could very well delay it. Yeah, I think it'll delay it. I think he'll get confirmed. I think the issue, though, for the White House is how long it's delayed, right? Because Kristi Noem's out in 13 days.
So if they are successful in delaying it a week or two weeks, then you're going to have to have an interim secretary because you can't just install Mark Wayne Mullen as acting secretary. That's not how the law works. Yeah. I'm surprised that they, well, not that where we are with MAGA, but just, I'm just overall, I never thought that we would be in this timeline that we're on right now.
And I want to get off of this timeline where you would have someone like Kristi Noem, like Mark Wayne Mullen, and like Tulsi Gabbard to be in such high positions and Pete Hegseth to be in such high positions and to be so unqualified. Aaron, none of them, not one of them has the qualifications to do the job.
And now you have Mark Wayne Mullen, who's going to be the head of Homeland Security, and he's always touting violence. And he called, you know, Alex Pretty a terrorist, or at least he was sort of in lockstep with Kristi Noem and something similar to Renee Good.
So I don't know what gives, if anything changes with Homeland Security, if you have a Mark Wayne Mullen, because it's one word, one first name in charge. Yeah, I don't know that things will change that drastically. I will say he made some comments that were a little, I guess, better than Kristi Noem.

Chapter 2: How does Rand Paul's threat impact Markwayne Mullin's confirmation?
I don't want someone like him being in any position of power, let alone, I don't want him being a senator, let alone the head of Homeland Security. Yeah, I mean, it's going to be tough.
I mean, ultimately, you're getting you're replacing Kristi Noem with someone who's more radical than Kristi Noem is without I mean, you're not going to see him make a mistake like film a video with CBP agents and holding a gun to their face like Kristi Noem did. But he's not going to do that. But he's going to be just as radical, if not more radical than Kristi Noem is.
Speaking of, uh, updating the public, um, Todd Blanche and Pam Bondi are, according to you, they're updating the public today on the Epstein files. Not the public. They're updating the oversight committee. Um, so there, we had the, the Bondi was subpoenaed yesterday officially. And within an hour or two, uh, DOJ was like, okay, we're coming up on the Hill and we're going to talk to you guys.
So like right away, the subpoena is somewhat working at least. Yeah.
But what's interesting is that, you know, the thing that I find that I find fascinating that more people are not talking about, which was just a little over a week ago, if yeah, a little over a week ago when they put the files back into the, they had removed some files from the Epstein files that implicated Donald Trump, or at least he was mentioned by a woman who was a woman now, 13 years old at the time, accused Donald Trump of
Of raping her. That's just what's in the files. And then that was removed and then put back in. I don't understand why that's not breaking news. And I also don't understand why that's just not enough enough evidence to force someone to go in front of, you know, a Senate subcommittee or congressional subcommittee and answer some questions. like they did with Hillary Clinton.
It is breaking news, and it should be enough. Arguably, it's a ton more than Hillary was ever involved in. And so, yeah, I mean, it's ultimately you have folks on Capitol Hill who don't seem to care when the name's Donald Trump. Right. Right. Right. issue a subpoena to Don Jr., who was presumably getting coffee with Jeffrey Epstein in the late 2010s, well after the arrest in the first arrest.
So there's a lot of information that needs to come out. Are you surprised? Well, let me get you. Let me do this and then I'll ask you the question. Reports say the searches for Epstein have gone down on the Internet by like 98 percent since this war. Do you believe that this war, we call it on my channel, the sit of the Iran war, we call it the Epstein distraction war.
Do you think that it is, that that's part of this, that we, and are you surprised that the media was so easily manipulated not to discuss the Epstein files? And maybe that's why, you know, the story that I just mentioned to you moments ago is not really in the headlines like it should be. Yeah, I mean, I sometimes call it Operation Epstein Fury.

Chapter 3: What qualifications does Markwayne Mullin have for the role of DHS Secretary?
You heard Pete Hexett saying, I can't wait for David Ellison to take over CNN. He also, the Ellisons also own CBS. They own, I think the algorithm there, at least they're in control of for TikTok. And then you have the president, you know, tweeting out or truth socialing out, you bragging about how he has gotten rid of some people in the media and he has changed the media landscape.
They want state-run media. They do. And it's so interesting to me that we went, you know, that we are in Iran because they say, oh, they shoot protesters over there. Well, we do here as well. They don't have freedom of speech over there. Well, you're... basically asking for the same thing.
So what gives us any sort of moral high ground to be able to go and start a war there when you are accusing them of the same things that we're doing here? But I wonder what you think of that. Yeah, I mean, I agree with you. I do think, though, that what we're seeing is a rise in independent media, right?
Like you and I can only be successful in a way because of the way mainstream has kind of capitulated. It's opened up an avenue where folks aren't really watching television anymore and reading print.
They're going to alternative sources that won't be bought out by a billionaire or won't just kick toe the party line just because that's what the party wants them to or that's what the White House wants them to. And so now, I mean, I think the consolidation of the media will only continue. I actually do worry that
the Ellisons will continue to try to buy it more and more, especially when it comes to like local broadcast networks, because there's a big merger between Nexstar and Tegna that may go through soon and that may decimate broadcast networks across the country as well.
So I just think that now more than ever, we need more investment into independent media and more folks need to be willing to kind of step up and speak out and just not kind of take the whatever talking points the White House is giving or mainstream is given. Look, I got to tell you something, and I don't know if you're having the same experience. I think that you are, if I remember correctly.
But recently, with over the last several months, my TikTok is not, my algorithm is not the same. My engagement is down because I have people who help me. I have a team that helps with my social media. And they're like, something's going on with this TikTok algorithm. And it feels like anything that is sort of centrist or left-leaning is being suppressed. Yeah. 100%.
I mean, TikTok is, it's a dying app, in my opinion. I'm still there and I'm still posting regularly because I believe in getting news to everyone. Do you think it's dying? I do, in some respects. I mean, I think that, I don't know. I mean, people, based on who I talked to, at least in the kind of more political and newsy spaces, everyone's kind of flocking in a weird way back to meta.

Chapter 4: What recent developments surround Pam Bondi and the Epstein files?
And maybe TikTok shop will just evolve, evolve into like a shopping app. I don't know, but I'm like you, I don't go on for news anymore. I used to go on, but. Not anymore. I'll go on Instagram now. And I'm not on Twitter. I just can't do it. But I'll go on Instagram or Threads or even Facebook now. I find myself going back to Facebook. Is that odd? Same. I mean, I go on Facebook now.
But I will say there's so much misinformation on Facebook. It's bad. It's really bad. I see some stuff there and it's like going viral. The other day I saw something like Eileen Cannon's getting impeached. And I'm like, that's not happening. What are we doing here? Like, I know you want that, but that's not happening.
And lots of AI, lots of things that I want to just like respond to every one of them and say, that's AI, that's AI, that's AI. But I don't want to ruin people's joy because they think it's real. Yeah. Aaron Parnas, so good to talk to you. How are you doing? Everything's okay? You're good? I'm all good. All good. Busy, busy, good. You good? Yeah, you're killing it. I'm good.
You've had a fun few months. I know, but thank you for your support and keep writing, keep talking about me. I am surprised though that, um, and well, I shouldn't be surprised. We're talking about legacy media. Maybe that some people don't realize that what happened to me is, has far reaching ramifications, especially for them. Yeah.
Um, because look at what just happened over the last week that, but we mentioned Hegseth and, and, um, uh, Donald Trump and, and, um, um, The whole thing, the whole nine yards. So there you go.
So I just don't think they realize that even for the publishing industry, even for books, if they are somehow, you know, allowed to silence people from whatever platform, I think it's just bad for us in general. Oh, 100%. And folks, if you aren't subscribed to Dawn on Substack yet and you're subscribed to me, go subscribe to him. Click the button wherever it is. Go take care of that. Same thing.
And if you're subscribed, I mean, not that you need any more followers, but yes, many more subscribers. But yes, go. Aaron, you're a good guy. Thank you. I enjoy having this conversation with you and the relationship that we've developed. So thank you and I'll see you soon. Be well, okay? All right.
