You know, there's this, one of the things I wrote about in my sub stack today is the fact that News outlets today, all they care about is the clicks and the views. And they're keeping, for example, Venezuela, Maduro at the front, the middle and the back of every single episode that they're running all throughout the day. As if this is the only thing that we should be thinking about. What about the Epstein files? What about affordability? What about Russia, Ukraine? What about still what's going on with Iran? What about what's going on with Israel Hamas? I mean, there's so much more than just Maduro. And they had notable people who were incarcerated at MDC, which, by the way, is an absolute shithole from what I hear.
I have gone on every show I've spoken about it a thousand times. They keep putting me in that list and saying that I was at MDC. I've never been to MDC. I was not processed there.
Why did Michael Cohen demand a CNN retraction and what does it reveal about media mistakes?
I've never been there inside or on the outside. And they were like, oh, my God, you're right. You're right. But you know the bad part, Don? And you know this better, of course, than anybody being affiliated to them for so many years. What happens is just as soon as they put something out, You have all of these news sources like Raw Story and others. They write about it. That's right. They then copy it. They make a couple of editorial changes so that there's a uniqueness to it. And then they just keep promoting it. So if CNN was wrong about it, well, so were they. And then it just multiplies and multiplies. So, yeah, they put out an apology and they put a retraction out.
Um, the, the problem for me is, well, number one, I'm surprised that CNN would do that because, uh, they have a very high, uh, you know, I know, uh, very strict standards and practices department. At least they did. Um, when Rick Davis was there, I'm not sure who's in charge of it now, but Rick was very stringent and I don't think that that mistake would have been made under him. So maybe that's an indication of where the company is now. But, um, it's, that's always the case.
How are news outlets prioritizing Venezuela over other global crises?
Someone can write something about you that is completely false.
Yep. Or say something about it.
Or say something. And it's become increasingly now more common. So someone writes it. Some people don't even bother to change anything. They just write the same exact story. And so I believe that the person or the organization that writes the first draft writes the history, right? Because everybody else has followed. It used to be someone writes something Pardon me. They would call and get a comment from you or from someone or they would check it and they would do their own reporting and then they would write something. They wouldn't just copy someone else. So it's very lazy, lazy reporters now, very lazy news organizations. And I'm glad you stood up for yourself. And I'm glad that I have to do it.

I wish I had done more of that, Michael, when I was going through what I went through at CNN and when people were writing things about me that were just not true. But I was under contract and I could not respond. And so maybe that will change. And I think it will once I'm not under contract.
Listen, I've had people even here on Substack make claims about me. How many times have I turned around and said I have no clue? I was unaffiliated, for example, with the Katie Johnson matter. I wasn't aware of it until I read about it in the papers like everybody else. That was being handled by somebody else. It was being handled by Alan Garten at the Trump Organization. I wasn't involved with it. But people want to say things about you. And you know what we do? We fight on. We just keep fighting on until such time, right, as the truth.
