Last month, 51-year-old James Kilroy was unanimously convicted of murdering his wife Valerie French and was sentenced to life in prison. The Central Criminal Court heard she was “savagely slaughtered” by her husband when he returned home from a night out with friends. He claimed cannabis use spurred him to kill her, but a jury rejected his claim he was insane when he murdered her. Now her brother David and his family are campaigning to introduce "Valerie’s Law" in a bid to change Ireland’s legal system and honour his sister’s legacy. You can learn more about ‘Valerie’s law’ and view the petition here. Host: Ellen Coyne. Guest: David FrenchSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
