And even our realtor who we're working with on the buy side said, oh, you'll find a place in four months. No, we're homeless in two weeks. We're going to have to move into an Airbnb, which is also crazy because it's like World Cup. And as delusional as everyone is about the price of houses to buy or rent in Toronto, so too are the Airbnb landlords.
Honestly, Jan, Sarah, I have seen places on Airbnb that are You know, it's a full house, but it's kind of a dump. It looks like a little Texas chainsaw massacre. They want $16,000 for one month. For one month. It's like it's these agencies and they manage hundreds of Airbnb bookings in the city. It's not like an individual person's renting out their place for a lot of these listings.
And they have decided based on algorithm that this is what it's worth right now for the weeks that we want it. I felt so guilty about even just trying to cover my mortgage. And we're talking like around $3,000 with my condo fees. Don't feel guilty. Don't you could be like according to what people are charging. Now, I will point out that all these places remain available. So like a plane.
No one's booking them for that price, but we also aren't getting it. So like we are we are living the housing crisis firsthand. And so our plan is move into an Airbnb for July. I mean, maybe live with our really dear friends for August because they they have like a beautiful home that could fit us.
