I didn't actually see. Was there any wild moments on the red carpet? No, the carpets were good. I really enjoy the fact that the carpets are being handled by a lot of, and this is a thing that's become like an issue online, but some influencers, let's say, you know so you've got Amelia de Moldenberg from like chicken shop date. She'll frequently be out there now doing doing red carpets. You've got various like sort of entertainment influencers doing it for like threads. One of the reality stars from summer house, Sierra Miller was doing it for the cut and, And so I think that they've really mixed it up. There's entertainment reporters, yes, that are doing a lot of the broadcast legacy media stuff. But I think the carpets have become more interesting as they've sort of branched out in terms of who they're inviting to do the interviews.
And I think, again, I'm a huge fan, as we've discussed on this show extensively, of heated rivalry. I think Hudson Williams is such a treat to see anywhere he goes because he does not have media training at all. He just goes there and says whatever he wants. And he did a really good interview with Amelia de Moldenberg of Chicken Chop Date. Great YouTube series if you haven't checked it out. And the two of them got on like a house on fire. I think that was like my carpet highlight for sure. Cool. All right. So going in, you know, the first, I don't know, five, 10 awards are like, you know, best original foreign. They don't get to the big stuff like best picture, best director towards the very end. Sinners cleaned up a little bit.
I think it was like pointed areas. It was like, you know, best actor, best original song. It didn't win like best picture, best director though. No, so it did win. So I think that Ryan Coogler won for original screenplay, which is like, you know, kind of a big deal. So that's why he had his moment to get on stage, which I was really happy to see for him. It did win six awards. So it was kind of like, you know, one of the big winners of the nights. One battle, oh no, sorry, I shouldn't say that. Sinners won four, one battle after another won six. So again, those are the two top line ones. And that's really what everyone expected going in, that the night was going to be about the two of them kind of duking it out.
Now, the real big moment for me came when Best Cinematography was handed out. And this award went to a woman for the first time ever. How did we make it to 2026 without a woman winning this award? But here we are. Seriously. And Conan even commented on it, like, after the award was given out, the cinematographer who won, again, for Sinners, Autumn Durold-Arquipa, he was like, how did we, how is this the first time?
What were the standout moments on the red carpet?
And it's because I think the camera and sort of, like, the tech side of movie production has been predominantly male for so long. I mean, there really aren't even that many... female directors.
