Success doesn't come to those who play it safe. But here's the catch.
It's about knowing when to take the shot and how to stack the odds in your favor. So let's break it down. First, calculated risks aren't about luck. They're actually about preparation. Before I left law enforcement to dive into entrepreneurship, I didn't just wake up one day and say, hey, let's roll the dice.
I actually researched, I planned, and I surrounded myself with people who had done it before. So preparation turns risk into opportunities. If you're not doing the work behind the scenes, you're actually gambling. You're not taking a calculated risk. Second, calculated risks separate you from the crowd.
Most people are too scared to step outside their comfort zone, and that's why they stay stuck in life. When you're willing to take a chance on an idea, a business, or even yourself, you're already ahead of 90% of the people. Playing small keeps you safe, but it also keeps you invisible. Lastly, failure is part of the process. Even calculated risks don't always work out, and that's okay.
