Chapter 2: How is Joslyn's Jewelry contributing to the local community?
ESPN Las Vegas is there. Adam, how are you, sir?
I'm good. I miss having Las Vegas theme music coming in, though. That's usually nice.
Well, you're batting leadoff. Hopefully you'll do better at this than you are at picking in our Dynasty League.
Well, some people are all over the world, like me, and I'll travel all over the place, including... You know, sitting on the White House grounds last week, it was kind of tough to keep up with my pick.
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. What's been going on over the last, you know, 21 hours that you haven't picked?
Well, I haven't been in the country. Where are you now? Now I'm one of the brave padres tonight, so it'll be pretty exciting.
Okay. So what country were you in?
One south of America, I think, is the proper place.
Okay. All right. Good to know. By the way, how was you recovering the MMA fights at the White House? Adam's not kidding.

Chapter 3: What insights does Adam Hill provide about Las Vegas sports?
He actually made a draft pick in our Dynasty draft from the White House. How was the fights on the grounds of the White House? Tell us something about it.
incredibly bizarre and surreal for sure um i still don't believe they should have happened but if you just take the moment as a sporting event it was one of the coolest things i've ever seen right so i think you can have those two different opinions on it uh i did make the pick from the white house press briefing room okay uh so some you know a place where people see those are holding cell for like seven hours
So it was fun. But, you know, we see it on TV, and it was cool to be in there.
Yeah, okay. All right. Yeah, it was surreal, I think is a good way to put it, for sure. All right, John Tortorella not coming back to the Knights. They were great with him coming down the stretch. Takes him all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. Are you surprised that he's not been made the permanent coach?
No, it was always the plan. They've had their coach in waiting for a long time. They've been grooming him down in the minor in the HL, and they wanted to go to him, but I don't think they wanted to give him his first chance to try to close out a season with a team that was struggling and just kind of, you know, throw him into that position.
I think they want to give him a fair chance in the offseason. It's somebody that they've had the plan for for a long time. So Porto is almost the perfect option to be like, hey, just get in there and, you know, crack a whip a little bit and see how it goes. And it went well. They got all the way to the final. They didn't win.
But they swear that Kelly McCormick or Kelly McCormick swears he would have made the move anyway, even if they won the cup. They would have moved on. So this was always the plan. Ryan Craig has been the guy that they've wanted to have. He was an assistant for a long time. They sent him down to be the head coach of the AHL just to get head coaching experience. And now he'll be the head coach.
No battle plan survives combat is a popular phrase that I always enjoy. Like, that's great that they had a plan. But it worked really well with the guy you had. Now, I know he's a fast burn and he's jumped from job to job to job. But I know that this was always their plan and they're sticking to it. But are they going to regret it?
Perhaps. I mean, but, you know, they've been pretty convicted in this for a long time and they're ready. And look, I think Tortorella would have worn thin very quickly. I think he already was to some degree with a lot of people around the organization, maybe not the players. But he also, look, in his short time there, cost him a draft pick. So lasting legacy of John Tortorella.

Chapter 4: What unique experiences did Adam have at the White House?
The Aviators ballpark. Was it considered a success?
I think so. Fans loved it. It was exciting. Pitchers need not apply to that stadium. Little known fact that the stadium is actually a thousand feet higher in elevation than the Strip is. So it was up higher. They had to deal with that a little bit. And I think that's why the balls were flying out of there the way they were. But, yeah, it was a lot of runs scored in that short period of time.
But the fans were happy. They liked seeing the A's there. And I think it was the first real bonding experience between the community and the team.
I know it is. And if you ever look out to the west when you're in Vegas, that's the direction that the stadium is. And it does gradually go up until you hit the mountains. Then it really goes up. But what's the overall elevation just total for where it is?
I think it's closer to 3,000. I know it's about 2,000 on the strip. I'm not a big ā I was going to say cartographer. That's Matt. I don't know that well. But, yeah, it's about 3,000 feet, I think, out there in Summerlin.
Okay. All right. So they expect it to play a lot more fair, I guess, when they get into their permanent home.
Yeah. Vegas is definitely higher than you think. but the city is not as high as the minor league stadium is out there.
I don't know. As I walk around and smell what I smell, I think it's pretty high.
Oh, good one.

Chapter 5: What changes are happening with the coaching staff in the NHL?
They're trying. I'm still going to hold out like 98%. I'm not going to go fully 100.
Okay. Have we gotten any further on NBA and where and all that?
Yeah, actually, you know what? I'm sorry about this because I just got some text right before I talked to you. It looks like Bill Foley, the Golden Knights owner, is going to make a bid for that team. So that's something that's in progress, or at least is a potential owner out there.
I know there's a bunch of groups that want to be a part of it, a bunch of arenas that want to be a part of it, but Bill Foley, Golden Knights owner, would certainly try to move them into T-Mobile. and share that arena. So that's, I guess, the first domino to fall.
Does he have control of that building and any of the ground around? I mean, I know they're the chief tenant and they get first choice, but is he making all the money off every concert and everything else that's in there?
No, he's got a fairly good deal. It's not as unbelievably good as the Raiders have it, but... He was a pretty good deal. And he'll be able to, yes, if he gets the team, they will work to have it in there. And it will be a pretty seamless transition. They've already got the locker rooms, by the way.
They have home and road NBA locker rooms in the building, which were built right away when they built it. So they'd be able to make that address pretty quickly.
OK, I just figured if he was going to do it, you know, and now everybody wants, you know, like the Mavericks and Stars are leaving American Airlines Center there in Dallas and they each want, you know, 100 acres to develop and have all these businesses and make all the money. That's what the Chiefs and Royals want here. That's not the case with him.
I mean, we'll see. I think right now the plan is that. I know he also wants to MLS at some point. That's been something he's talked about. So maybe at some point he builds some complex outside of the area where he is, but I think he's pretty happy with how things are going. So I think one of the things is he doesn't want an opposing or a competing arena, right?

Chapter 6: How did the Las Vegas Aviators perform in their recent debut?
Would the Dolphins take a swing just yes or no? Would they take a swing on Brendan Sorsby? Do you think they'll have a pick in mind?
My brother, in 59 years, the year after Bob Greasy, they got lucky with one guy named Dan Marino because he fell all the way to the back end of the round. They took five quarterbacks before that. Marino had party rumors, and he threw 19, I think 19 interceptions his senior year. Miami got lucky that Marino fell to them. If I'm the Dolphins... I take a stab every time I can.
At least I'd put in a third rounder if I'm the Dolphins. But because of what I just told you, their marriage to Malik and that they brought him over from Green Bay, I don't think they want to disturb that groove. So something tells me they'll stay away from it, but they shouldn't. You've got to take a stab every time you can.
And then just buying or selling two over 500, the Marlins, what will they do at the deadline?
Oh, they won't buy. No, no. They'll try to trade Sandy Alcantara if he's pitching well. No, no, no. Players play their way off of this roster. They don't really commit to salaries, unfortunately. You know, if you're a Marlins player, you want to kick ass. So they're like, okay, well, we've got to pay them. We've got to move them. And so that's what's going to end up happening.
Sandy, right now he's pitching well, actually. I'm sure everybody around the majors right now that can spend some money is probably going to reach out to the Marlins by the end of July or by the end of August with a waiver deadline.
All right. Great stuff as always, Orlando, Ozzie, Gary. Great information. We appreciate it. Have yourself a great week, my friend. You got it, guys. Be good out there.

Chapter 7: What are the Miami Heat's prospects for upcoming trades?
Adam Epstein, great stuff as always, buddy. We appreciate it. Have yourself a great week, my friend. Thanks, guys. Thank you so much.
All right, the La Feta Delicatessen end of the hour answer. How many defensive backs have been selected for the Pro Bowl 12 times? Daryl Green? Uh-uh. No? Woodson? Nope. 11. Both Woodson's? Let's see. Rod Woodson, 11. Charles? Charles Woodson, not as many. I can't find him down there. 12. 12 as a defensive back. Ronnie Lott? Nope. Lott was selected to 10.
And this is Pro Bowls, right? Mm-hmm. So it's... Night Train Lane predate that?
Yes. He isn't on the list. I'll give you the number and you can try to figure out who they are. Two. A corner and a safety. Safety played late 60s to 80. Kraus? Mostly for the late 60s to 80. He played primarily for Houston Runners and Washington. Fisher? Ken Houston. Ken Houston, okay. The other played from 99 to 13. Well, that one I ought to be getting. Yeah.
Played for two different teams, one of them in the, he finished his career with 10 seasons for an AFC West team after playing in the AFC, or NFC East. Brother, younger brother, was a linebacker, wasn't as good. Fun names. 99 to 13. First for Washington, then for Denver. Safety?
Corner. Oh, corner. Can you assume it was the safety? Oh, well, Champ Bailey.
Champ Bailey. Yeah. 48 today. He was not a champ, though, because he never won a Super Bowl. Oh, he wasn't on that? He didn't make it? His last year was 13. He was a Bronco from 04 to 13. Wow. So he was in a Super Bowl, although he only played five games that year. Maybe he didn't get there. Maybe he wasn't on the roster.
The only ones who've had more than him, just as players in general, going up the list. More than 12? 12 or more that aren't defensive backs. Ray Lewis, Merlin Olsen. Ray Lewis, yeah, Merlin Olsen.
Left tackle for the Bengals, Munoz.
