Right. And you've an online relationship with him?
We do actually, yeah. I mean, I reached out to Pico when he first joined the team and just said, oh my God, I can't believe there's an Irishman on our team, you know. And yeah, we've been exchanging messages since, just always give him a bit of a morale message before the game. He always replies to say thank you. He's just great. He's really, really good. Yeah, he's been to Cape Verde.
Obviously, he's been to Cape Verde, but he's been to Sal, the island that I'm on. for his honeymoon. I think it was 2024. Unfortunately, I wasn't on the island at the time. I was travelling myself, but he did, I mean, he was around town and every woman just loved chatting to him and getting photos and he went to the Irish Dubliner bar and yeah, it was great.

I ended up taking the opportunity by the horns and I ended up building life here. I have two little girls who are also Cape Verdean Irish. So they can really resonate with Pico's story as well, having the Cape Verdean dad and Irish mom. So, yeah, here we are still here.
OK. I mean, people will have heard of Cape Verde, but they probably, I include myself in this, don't know an awful lot about it. Now, you're involved in real estate, so I presume you're going to tell me it's wonderful. But anyway, tell us a bit about it, Cape Verde.
Oh my God. So yeah, I mean, it's a destination that I suppose a lot of people still don't know. They haven't discovered, as you said. But I don't think that will be the case much longer, to be honest. You know, I think the Cape Verde team have really done us proud in terms of putting Cape Verde on the map.
So we're three and a half hours from Portugal on a flight from Portugal and we're six hours on a flight from London. Unfortunately, still no flights from Ireland. We're probably the only European country with still no flights. So we really, really need to get Ryanair Aer Lingus behind us and get some flights coming from Ireland to Cape Verde. But yeah, it's a beautiful destination.
It's very like a European Caribbean. You've got turquoise waters everywhere. white powder beaches, loads of hotel groups over here already and more and more coming online. So yeah, it's just a beautiful destination to come and take a holiday at.
And what are the temperatures like?
Temperatures are stable all year round. So they're in the mid-20s all year round, get up to about nearly 30 in the summer months. But because we're so near the equator, David, that's a really, really hot temperature. It's really hot for here. It's an African 26, 27 degree.
