Traveling in pregnancy is generally considered to be safe for most women. It is typically recommended to check in with your medical provider before booking your trip and before going away on your trip. The biggest risk the travel itself typically poses is being away from your primary medical provider and not the travel itself, via air, train, ship or car. There also is the the potentially increased risk of exposure to infectious diseases such as Zika, malaria and SARS-CoV-2 and each of these should be considered with your provider based on your gestational age and destination.
