TUKUA

Art Fairs

31 Aug 2025

Description

TUKUA visits the Aotearoa Art Fair at the Auckland Viaduct, now in its twelfth year. TUKUA attended the opening night event and then travelled across town to the brand-new May Fair. Why are these two art fairs on at the very same time in Auckland City? TUKUA, as always, has an opinion about that.TUKUA is 75-year-old arts activist and author, Ngāhuia Te Awekōtuku, Gen Z sculptor Brett Graham, and 24-year-old standup comedian, Kura Turuwhenua. We take you to the event, interview the creatives involved and then discuss it back in the RNZ studio. Our focus is on Māori and Pasifika artists but no-one is safe from the TUKUA lens.Go to this episode on rnz.co.nz for more details
