Prelude II: Winter’s Claim follows Jesse—played by Slavic—whose life on the margins has taught him grit, instinct, and a stubborn refusal to stay down. When a nameless pull draws him north into the high country above Phoenix, Jesse discovers the truth behind the cold that never quite leaves his bones. In the mountains of Flagstaff, beneath an unnatural frost, he comes face to face with the divine presence that has watched him from afar: Skadi, the implacable goddess of winter. This prelude explores Jesse’s Visitation—raw, harsh, and honest—as he is armed with the gifts of his divine parent and confronted with the reality that fate has plans for him. What begins as a simple drive into the cold becomes a moment of mythic awakening, setting Jesse on a path shaped by ice, endurance, and the unforgiving strength of winter. About the Chronicle The Valley of the Setting Sun is a Scion Second Edition chronicle set in modern-day Phoenix, where divine power sleeps just beneath the heat-hazed pavement.
