Slasher Flick "The Night on Tempest Mountain" Chapter 2: Blood in the Branches

29 May 2019

Description

Rain rolls in over the Catskills as the 100th anniversary at Marten’s Rest takes a darker turn. After the first shocking “accident,” tension ripples through the guests—some want to pretend nothing is wrong, some reach for drugs, and some start looking for answers. Out in the storm, a late-night walk back to a private cabin becomes a nightmare as the forest around the resort stops feeling like scenery and starts feeling like an enemy. Rumors of cursed ground and old murders don’t sound so ridiculous when something moves among the trees where no wind blows. Back at the lodge, fear and denial collide: a grieving jock determined to fight back, a shaken staff, a traumatized witness, and a cameraman who can’t stop filming all find themselves staring into the dark, trying to decide whether to run, to dig deeper, or to make a stand. By the time the night’s chaos reaches the resort’s front steps, it’s clear this isn’t just a bad storm—something out there is hunting, and it has roots in more than just the soil. About the Chronicle Slasher Flick: The Night on Tempest Mountain is a horror role-playing chronicle that embraces everything you love about classic slasher films: larger-than-life characters, bad decisions in the dark, storm-lashed woods, and a relentless, unseen threat. Using the Slasher Flick rules, the story follows a cast of primary and secondary characters trapped at a remote mountain resort during its centennial celebration, where local legends about old murders and Tempest Mountain’s cursed woods refuse to stay in the past. Players juggle multiple characters, earn “genre points” by leaning into slasher tropes, and fight to survive as the body count rises. It’s bloody, chaotic, darkly funny, and built to feel like you’re watching a late-night VHS horror marathon—only this time, you’re the one trying not to die before the credits roll. 🗨️ Hop into our Discord!
