Unashamed with the Robertson Family

Ep 1236 | Jase Breaks His Silence on the Personal Mistake That Became THAT ‘Duck Dynasty’ Episode

29 Dec 2025

Transcription

Chapter 1: What benefits do the hosts discuss about working at Duck Commander?

0.031 - 24.543 Al Robertson

So no matter how you slice it, we're definitely in a divided time in our country. There's no way around it. We see it every single day and watch the news. And so I think in this time of division, we have to have consistency, the speaking into the values that we believe in. One of our good friends, Tony Perkins, heads up an organization called Family Research Council. He's a Louisiana guy.

Chapter 2: What personal mistake does Jase reveal about his past?

24.563 - 39.218 Al Robertson

He's a pastor. He has our heart. for Jesus. He even did a blurb in Dad's book, A Theft of America's Soul. And it's just been there for us as a family, but also as a nation. So FRC is standing for what's right.

Chapter 3: How did 'Duck Dynasty' generate its episode ideas?

39.258 - 67.675 Al Robertson

They defend faith. They protect families. They remind leaders that biblical truth still matters. So when others compromise, our friends at FRC stand firm, because if we lose our foundation, we lose the soul of our nation. Unashamed Nation, you guys can help out FRC by defending what matters most by visiting FRC.org slash unashamed to learn more. Check them out.

Chapter 4: What does it mean to be created in God's image?

67.695 - 70.418 Jase Robertson

I am unashamed. What about you?

0

72.82 - 88.036 Al Robertson

So welcome back to Unashamed. Jason and I just had a wonderful treat. The duck men slash buck men guys came in. with some Sandhill Crane fresh off the smoker. That was awesome.

88.056 - 98.263 Jase Robertson

We do our podcast at a company called Duck Commander, and so sometimes that gets crossed over in that we're fixing to do a podcast, and it's like, hold up.

0

98.243 - 101.449 Zach Dasher

Luckily, we hadn't started yet.

0

Chapter 5: How can we cultivate a relationship with Jesus?

101.749 - 103.993 Zach Dasher

It was like the Sandhill Crane Commander now.

0

104.114 - 109.203 Al Robertson

Well, they were filming for their stuff, and so they're filming us filming our stuff.

0

109.223 - 113.992 Jase Robertson

Well, I walked by and said, what y'all cooking today? He said, we got some Sandhill Crane.

0

114.072 - 130.4 Al Robertson

I will admit, it's my first time to ever eat it. I'd heard a lot about it. It's delicious. It doesn't even hardly taste like fowl. It's a little more coarse, as Jace pointed out, than a filet mignon, but it's very similar. When you say coarse, like chewy or just grainy?

0

Chapter 6: What does the Bible say about doubt and belief?

130.42 - 142.122 Jase Robertson

A little tougher. A little tougher. A little tougher texture than like, you know, filet mignon. That's what makes it fowl. But still, very delicious. And you mean fowl as in F-O-W-L. Yeah, not F-O-U-L.

0

142.884 - 155.687 Jase Robertson

There is some fowl that's fowl, but we're not talking about... For you listeners out there who don't realize that God put us in charge of the animal world, a sandhill crane is actually... When you think crane, you're like, you just say no crane.

Chapter 7: What does true peace look like according to the hosts?

155.707 - 163.693 Jase Robertson

But this bird is... I think it's like five foot high and about four feet wide with its wings out.

0

163.994 - 166.938 Al Robertson

And it is a migratory, huntable bird.

0

167.298 - 167.518 Jase Robertson

Yeah.

0

167.579 - 169.962 Al Robertson

Mostly in Texas is where they probably do the best with them.

0

169.982 - 181.537 Jase Robertson

Yeah, West Texas is where they hang out. But I'm telling you, I'm a fan. They make an interesting sound. Have you ever heard them? No. Kind of like Zach throwing up.

Chapter 8: How does faith, even as small as a mustard seed, impact our lives?

181.557 - 183.48 Jase Robertson

You don't actually – yeah.

0

185.133 - 186.776 Zach Dasher

I got more bass note than that, man.

0

186.796 - 198.354 Al Robertson

That's a callback, Zach, to the last podcast. Yeah, that Jill. That Jill, I tell you what, your wife, Zach, is one of my favorite people on the planet. She's a spitfire.

0

198.414 - 199.596 Zach Dasher

She'll throw a man under the bus.

199.616 - 222.008 Al Robertson

She will throw Zach under the bus so fast, it's not even funny. Yeah, well, we've documented already. Let me mention our good friends at Family Research Council. Earlier when we were talking, we seem divided, but we're really united because we love doing this podcast together. Unfortunately, our nation really is divided. And so the only thing that really works to pull people together is

221.988 - 246.088 Al Robertson

is some good news. And our good friends at Family Research Council make sure that biblical truth still matters on Capitol Hill and in Washington, D.C. They defend faith. They protect families. They remind leaders that what we speak in truth and love matters. What they say is pray, vote, stand, which we love that. That's what we want to do to make a difference. We want you to help them out. Our

246.068 - 272.072 Al Robertson

Been a friend for a long time. Help FRC keep defending what matters most. Visit frc.org slash unashamed to learn more. So we were off for a while, and we talked about it on the last podcast on our Christmas episode. Zach was sick, so we missed a couple of episodes in there being sick. So, Zach, we're glad that you're better. And, Zach, we did. We kind of threw you under the bus, too, at first.

272.512 - 288.878 Al Robertson

But at the end of our second one, we were talking about anointing. Jace had a tremendous rabbit hole that he had been holding in his back pocket, that we decided since it was just he and I, we would do that. And at the end of that, because we were in James 5, we prayed for you, Zach.
