Welcome to Seeking Alpha's Wall Street Breakfast, where we cover the top news for investors every morning. Good day to you. Today is Thursday, January 22nd. I'm Julie Morgan. The semiconductor sector ended mostly in the green on Wednesday, with Intel jumping ahead of the release of its fourth quarter financial results. Intel shares climbed 11% on Wednesday.

The company is slated to release its latest results after the markets closed today. Micron Technology was up 6.6%, AMD increased 7.7%, while Marvell Technology ticked up more than 3%. Nvidia gained just shy of 3%. Cirrus Logic ended the day 4.5% higher, while Global Foundries and OnSemi were both up more than 5%. However, Credo Technologies sank 9%, while Astera Labs dropped 4.2%.

On Wall Street, ahead of the opening bell at this early hour, Dow S&P and Nasdaq futures are in the green. Crude oil is down 0.7% at $60 a barrel. Bitcoin is up 0.6% at $89,000. Gold is down 0.1% at $48.24.
