So for those who don't know, although, hello, I'm assuming several of you here do know, but we've been making a podcast called The Swinging Christies under our Christie Time umbrella, Mark and I, for what feels like 700 years. Oh.
It's aged us terribly.
Hasn't it? Hasn't it? And we've had a blast.

That's been so fun and so informative. And yeah, we were just sort of casting around for what else we wanted to talk about. And this seemed to be the perfect opportunity.
We go through our huge checklist of things that we want to do. So we literally have spoken for, well, since we recorded probably episode two of The Swinging Christies about, oh, and next we might do that.

But these things gravitate towards us in the end, don't they?
Yeah. You know, one of the things that we did in The Swinging Christies was to kind of shine a light on something that was not being as widely spoken about in the mainstream of kind of Christie readership. And this is doing the same thing. It's another portion of her catalogue that doesn't quite get the love that we think it deserves. Yes.
I was going to say this is our second, so that means this is our second project together, but actually we've done quite a few little projects together now. I guess we have.

Having only met in 2022. 2022. Imagine that. I know.

But probably will be out in the world by the time this goes out. Agatha Christie wrote six books under the name Mary Westmacott, which is, of course, what this Westmapod is all about, which are quite unlike most of what she wrote under the name of Agatha Christie.
Yeah.
That's what we really want to explore here, isn't it?

So who's Mary Westmacott?
Who is Mary Westmacott? Yeah, I think it's going to be quite the journey of discovery. I mean, we know, of course, it's Agatha Christie writing under a pseudonym, and we'll reveal more about this in our first proper episode in two weeks' time. That was a secret when it began, which is why we're saying, you know, Agatha Christie's secret identity, her secret alter ego, almost.
