Brittney Gilliam's Family Reaches A Settlement

Brittney Gilliam agreed to a $1.9 million settlement more than three years after police officers in Aurora, Colorado held her, her sister, her two nieces, and her six-year-old daughter at gunpoint. This comes on the heels of two new studies from the Journal of the American Medical Association that show the effect of police violence on Black communities.Educators in Durham, North Carolina held another “Day of Protest" on Monday that forced Durham Public Schools to close seven schools.
