In 2023 - its 75th anniversary - CIPR will be reasserting its founding purpose, to help improve society through effective, ethical communications. It also plans to prepare its Chartered Practitioners to take up positions as Board members and Trustees to have a greater role in the governance of organisations in future. Our podcast guest on this episode is Steven Shepperson-Smith, President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, as well as being a Fellow of the Institute and a Chartered PR Practitioner. Steven is Vodafone Group's PR lead for Africa, charged with raising the profile of its portfolio of telecom brands - including Vodacom and Safaricom - and products - including M-PESA, the continent's leading fintech platform - to the international community. Steven has also set up Vodafone Group's international reputation management programme. Steven has worked in PR for over two decades including senior management roles both in-house and in agency.
