Let's go!In Greek Mythology, there are nine Muses with Apollo as their leader Καλλιοπη (Calliope) the Muse of Epic Poetry, Κλειω (Clio) the Muse of History, Ευτερπη (Euterpe) the Muse of Lyric Poetry, Θαλεια (Thalia) the Muse of Comedy and folklore poetry, Μελπομενη (Melpomene) the Muse of Tragedy, Τερψιχορη( Terpsichore) the Muse of Dance, Ερατω (Erato) the Muse of Love Poetry, Πολυμνια (Polyhymnia) the Muse of Religious Poetry and Ουρανια (Urania) the Muse of Astronomy. Initially they were Nymphs of the mountains and the waters of Greece. Their purpose was to ease human troubles and pain and that purpose had a name.
