How does ADHD affect memory?

20 Nov 2023

Description

Katie has always struggled to remember things. It affects every aspect of her daily life. A few years ago, her memory got bad she thought she might have dementia. It was only after getting her ADHD diagnosis that the pieces fell into place. It turns out, ADHD can significantly impact both working and long-term memory. Sam's experience is very different. He's never had a problem with his memory. In fact, he’s always been hyper-organised. He believes it's one of the reasons why he wasn't diagnosed with ADHD sooner. So, how does ADHD affect memory? And why is it not the same for everyone? Dr Tony Lloyd from The ADHD Foundation is back to explain the link between ADHD and memory. He shares strategies for improving memory and managing forgetfulness.
