Edrychwn yn y bennod hon ar y gerdd ‘Aneirin’ gan Iwan Llwyd, gan graffu ar y modd y mae’n cymharu – neu’n cymathu – swydd y bardd a swydd y newyddiadurwr. Trafodwn hefyd y modd y mae’r gerdd yn cymathu rhyfeloedd o wahanol gyfnodau hanesyddol a nodwn fod gan Iwan Llwyd syniadau pendant iawn ynglŷn â swyddogaeth y bardd Cymraeg trwy’r oesau. Eglurwn y cyd-destun hanesyddol a’r berthynas rhwng y math o newyddion a welid ar y teledu pan oedd Iwan Llwyd yn ifanc a chynnwys y gerdd hon. * In this episode we look at the poem 'Aneirin' by Iwan Llwyd, scrutinizing the way in which he compares – or assimilates – the poet's job with the journalist's. We also discuss the way in which the poem assimilates wars from different historical periods and note that Iwan Llwyd has very definite ideas about the function of the Welsh poet through the ages. We explain the historical context and the relationship between the type of news seen on television when Iwan Llwyd was young and the content of this poem.
