Google receives 27,762 complaints in 1st transparency report under new IT rules

Google received around 27,762 complaints from individual users in India from April 1 to April 30, shows the tech giant's first monthly transparency report after India's new IT rules came into effect on May 25. As per the company, 96 per cent or 26,707 such complaints were regarding copyright issues; followed by trademark (1.3 per cent); defamation (1 per cent); other legal issues (1 per cent); counterfeit (0.4) per cent; and circumvention (0.1 per cent).
