Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
from the ZM Podcast Network. It's Fletch Vaughan and Hayley's Little Bitter Pod. Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod.
Guys, it's great. The new year has begun, well and truly, right? We're deep into it.
We're nearly into February.
Ugh!
Yeah. You've got to calm that shit right down, buddy.

Chapter 2: What reflections do the hosts have about the start of the new year?
This is a year I don't want to rush through.
You're wishing away the year.
Yeah, I know. Last year I was like, let's get this done and dusted and wrapped up. I don't want to enjoy this one. But I just want to take us back to January 1st.
Okay.
A day that typically in my calendar doesn't exist because I sleep it away. But this is a little, it's more me advocating again for the benefits of having your parents live with you or living with your parents. It's the greatest thing that's ever happened to me.
I think it's very rare that you can. Like a lot of people would just be driven so crazy.
Okay. Picture this. You have hosted a legendary New Year's party. The stuff of legend. People are in their Ubers 6am January 1st, right? This is a repetitive thing at my house on New Year's Day. People with their suns up and that means it's time to go.
Must be a lot of espresso martinis.
The amount of espresso is coming out of that machine, I'll tell you what. So we go to bed. Oh. Oh.

Chapter 3: How did Hayley's parents contribute to her New Year's Day?
Oh, wait. Was that a hard one?
Wait.
Wait. Oh. Well, the people, the members of my household, including my best friend who was in one room. Yeah. My brother and his fiance in another room and me in, I don't know what his name is, in my room. And we wake up at 2 p.m. Yeah. The next day. Jesus Christ. Well, that same day. Wow. 2 p.m. house was about. And I hear racket. And I'm like, what is happening?
Chapter 4: What was the aftermath of the legendary New Year's party?
Like, there's noise. Oh, my God. And I get up and I open the curtains and I sort of face the day and think, oh, gosh. And I was like, right. Like, today I cannot start the new year with a house like this. I come outside. I sent my parents away, by the way, for New Year's. I was like, get out of here.
Well, they didn't need to see that kind of debauchery.
They don't need to witness what's going on here. Patsy's let herself back into the house and it is cleaned top to bottom. I'm talking recyclings all sorted, rubbish is sorted, dishes are sorted, house is reset. Floors were done. The deck had been resorted. My 2026 balloons had been taken down. It was a full reset and I didn't have to do anything.
Like you hadn't even had a party.
Like I hadn't had a party. Wow. Wow, that's good stuff. Then food arrives and a nice crispy cold cider. That day would have been such a punish to me had it not have been for the fact that my parents were with me and they didn't want to deal with it. And they didn't even bother waking me up. How good is that?
That's a quiet clean, too. Yeah. As a, you know, often earliest to bed, earliest to rise.
Yeah.
And a house cleaner. Yeah. I do that shit noisy.
Yeah, no, no, no. She wasn't doing that passive-aggressive thing either when you're slamming the dish. She'd be like, well, I guess I'll clean this up. She did it out of the kindness of her own heart. Oh, my God. And I'll tell you, some of the stuff she would have seen, you know, cleaning up sort of miscellaneous this, that, and the other. She didn't even say a word. Right, okay. No.
