Detection of Jingmenviruses in Japan with Evidence of Vertical Transmission in TicksCitationViruses, 2021; 13(12): 2547論文の要約日本の複数の地域で採取されたマダニ（各種種）を対象に、次世代シーケンシングによるマダニウイルスの探索を行った結果、ジンメンウイルスの一種であるJingmen tick virus（JMTV）および新規にTakachi virus（TAKV）が確認された。特に、未吸血の幼齢ダニ（Amblyomma testudinarium）でもJMTVが検出されたことから、自然界における垂直（親から子への）伝播の存在が示唆された。さらに、これらのウイルスは特定のマダニ種に限局して存在している可能性が示され、ジンメンウイルスが多様な宿主・地域で循環している実態が明らかになった。今後、これらの新興ウイルスの感染リスクや病原性、伝播動態について、さらなる疫学的および病原学的研究が必要とされる。
