Grice (1989)の「協調の原理：Cooperative Principle」および Sperber and Wilson (1986/95)の「関連性理論：Relevance Theory」の考え方をもとに、「お住まいはどちらですか？」と聞かれて住所を丸ごと答えない理由を考察。 Grice (1989): 協調の原理 (cooperative principle) この原則をもとに、以下の4つの格率 (Maxim)を話し手の指針として設定 ・量の格率 (Maxim of quantity) ・質の格率 (Maxim of quality) ・関係の格率 (Maxim of relation) ・様態の格率 (Maxim of manner)
