为什么在中共执政史上仅毛、习两人对个人崇拜有强烈的个人欲望？而其他的领导人，如邓小平、江泽民和胡锦涛却兴趣不大？在毛泽东和习近平崇尚个人崇拜的背后，其实是追求终身执政的合法性。中共在文革结束后也曾制定了一系列的政策文件反对个人崇拜。习近平之所以能很快推翻这些党纪国法，一是由于它们缺乏理论上的明确性，二是邓小平在“六四”后提出的“核心论”为新的个人崇拜大开缺口。最后，目下的中共早已是一个腐朽不堪百年老党，它已经无力阻止一个对国家政治经济无寸缕之功的人登基了。 作者：宋永毅 美国加州州立大学洛杉矶分校荣休教授
