帕特诺斯特电梯（paternoster lift），“帕特诺斯特”在拉丁文中解作“我们的天父”，是拉丁语版主祷文开篇的两个词。最初之所以这样命名，是因为该电梯是以一个循环的形式出现，这种形式就如同使用玫瑰经念珠背诵祈祷时一样。帕特诺斯特电梯是由一连串开放的隔间所组成，通过链条的缓慢持续运动带动电梯运作，每个隔间至多可容纳两人，期间不停靠任一楼层。由于没有门，也被称为“无门电梯”。最早的无门电梯可以追溯至1868年，但后来出于安全问题考量，无门电梯被渐渐弃用，现存于世约300个。
