大家可能不知道，在明朝和清朝的时候，只有五品以上的官员才有资格被授予圣旨，而五品以下的官员是没有这样的资格的。他们得到皇上的诏命只能通过敕命的方式。正是因为这样，皇帝所写的圣旨可并不一定都是金黄色的。那历史上的圣旨都有什么颜色呢？据史籍记载，五品以上的官员得到皇帝特别下发的圣旨有三彩、五彩和七彩绫三种不同质地。官员的级别越高，制作圣旨的材料颜色就越多，就更加珍贵。而五品以下的官员接到的圣旨，一般来说都是由纯白色的绫缎所制成的，可见等级低的官员因为级别太低，待遇也是很低的。
