阿信地藏菩萨。山中温泉旅馆的后院里，栽着一株大栗树。阿信地藏菩萨落坐在栗树的树荫下。据名胜导游书记载，阿信卒于明治五年，享年六十三。她二十四岁丧夫守寡了半辈子，就是说，他一无遗漏的亲近村里的称得上是年轻人的年轻人。青年们相互间确立了某种秩序，互相体贴。阿信少年到了一定年龄，村里的年轻人就把他们吸收过来，加入阿信共有者的一伙中年轻人有了妻室。就得从这一伙人中退出来。多亏阿信，山里的年轻人才不用翻山越岭走七里地去找港口的女人。山里的少女是纯洁的，山里的妻子是贞洁的，就像山沟里的所有男人渡过跨越西间的吊桥才能走进自己的村庄一样。这村庄里的所有男人无一不踏过阿信，而长大成人的他觉得这个传说很美，也憧憬阿信了。
