本集節目帶大家去位在阿拉伯半島上的卡達。卡達的富有源自於生產天然氣和石油，這個國家曾經在外交上碰壁，化解後藉由舉辦世足賽重建國際形象。事實上卡達在文化藝術上的投資也非常可觀，由法國建築師Jean Nouvel設計「卡達國家博物館」，靈感取自沙漠中的礦物結晶「沙漠玫瑰」，這是在沙漠地區特有的地理景觀，也是中東文化重要象徵。而與Jean Nouvel大膽前衛的設計不同，貝聿銘打造的「伊斯蘭藝術博物館」走向理性、穩定的空間氛圍，細膩且耐看。「卡達教育城」裡則有Rem Koolhaas建構的「卡達國家圖書館」，書架像山坡一樣安排在偌大的空間，正中間有公共交誼空間可以前往。 -- Hosting provided by SoundOn
