I'm afraid (that) ... 恐怕... that常被省略 I'm afraid it is going to rain this afternoon. 恐怕今天下午会下雨 overweight 表示“超重的” 前面加人表示某人体重过重 Anyone can see that you're overweight, you should go on a diet. 任何人都能看出来你体重过重，你应该节食了 2. Let me see=Let's see 之后长接破折号（—），表示停顿之意，说话者可能在思考、想或计算 How long are you going to stay here? Let me see/let's see— five days, I think. 你打算在这呆多久？ 我看看——我想是5天吧。 3.That's no t too bad. 还不算太糟 That's too bad. 太糟糕了/太可惜了 =What a shame. (shame 遗憾) I'm afraid I can't go to your party tonight. Oh, that's too bad./what a shame. 恐怕今晚不能去参加你的派对了 哦，太可惜了！ 4. till (=until) 作连词，之后接主语和动词；作介词之后接名词作宾语 They will not leave till/until the sun goes down. 他们直到太阳下山才会离开。 I'll stay here till/untill Friday. 我将一直待到这个礼拜五 5. Have a nice flight. =I hope (that) you (may) have a nice flight. 类似的还有： Have a good time. 祝你玩得愉快 Have a nice day. 祝你今天过得愉快
