练习方法：先不看文本听3遍以上，尽量听清每个发音，然后将故事听写出来，可以发到我们电台社区的贴吧作为作业。接着看文本，改正听写的错误，并弄懂每句话，每个词。然后不看文本同步跟读，直到能流利朗读并完全理解，最后用自己的话将故事复述出来。 12. The last cigarette最后的香烟 Mr. White had a bad habit. He was a chain smoker. Mr. White knew his addiction was unhealthy. He couldn't even take walks anymore. He spent all day coughing. Mr. White spent one year trying to quit smoking. He would always buy a pack and promise himself it would be his last cigarette. 怀特先生有个坏习惯，他是一个烟鬼。怀特先生知道他的烟瘾是不健康的，他甚至都不能散步了。他每天都在咳嗽。怀特先生花了一年的时间想要戒烟。他每次都会买一包然后对自己承诺这是他最后的香烟了。 Mr. White went to his doctor for a check-up. His doctor asked him to take an x-ray. They found a tumor on his left lung. He had cancer from all the smoking. Mr. White went home scared. He threw out his cigarettes, but he kept one. This would finally be his last cigarette. 怀特先生到医生那里去体检，医生让他拍X光。他们在怀特先生的左肺发现了一个肿瘤，他由于吸烟得了癌症。怀特先生很害怕的回了家。他把他的烟全部扔掉了，但是留下了一根。这将会是他最后的香烟。
