當年的台語片演員必須自理服裝，男明星比較簡單，一套西裝搭配不同的領帶，就可以演出好幾部時裝戲；女明星比較費心思，有的會去永樂市場買布做衣服，她們甚至知道什麼樣的布料在黑白片裡呈現出來的質感比較好。 那時的台語演員即興功夫很強，排練個幾次就馬上上手，而且幾乎沒在NG的，因為底片很貴，NG太多次會很難看。
