アーサー・ビナード（Arthur Binard） 1967年、米国ミシガン州生まれ。ニューヨーク州のコルゲート大学で英米文学を学び、卒業と同時に来日、日本語での詩作を始める。詩集『釣り上げては』（思潮社）で中原中也賞、絵本『ここが家だ――ベン・シャーンの第五福竜丸』（集英社）で日本絵本賞を受賞。 エッセイ集に『亜米利加ニモ負ケズ』（日本経済新聞出版社）、『日々の非常口』（新潮文庫）、絵本に『くうきのかお』（福音館書店）、『ことばメガネ』（大月書店）、詩集に『ゴミの日』（理論社）、翻訳詩集には『日本の名詩、英語でおどる』（みすず書房）。翻訳絵本に『ダンデライオン』『どんなきぶん？』（ともに福音館書店）、『カエルもヒキガエルもうたえる』（長崎出版）、『ホットケーキできあがり！』（偕成社）、『雨ニモマケズ Rain Won't 』（今人舎）、『かいぞく ゴックン』（ポプラ社）がある。
