In Paris, the Cac 40 index jumped 1.2 per cent while Frank­furt's Xetra Dax index climbed 0.5 per cent. The Swiss Mar­ket Index gained 1.2 per cent.In Lon­don, the FTSE 100 index advanced 0.4 per cent to a record high.Defence com­pan­ies pulled European stock mar­kets lower as investors con­sidered the implic­a­tions of an end to the con­flict for weapons man­u­fac­tur­ers.
