The two com­pan­ies are now worth a com­bined $5.9tn, about twice as much as the entire FTSE 100.Microsoft rose as much at 9 per cent in early trad­ing, becom­ing the second group to hit the $4tn mile­stone after Nvidia this month. Since the chip­maker passed the mark on July 9, its value has risen $400bn more.
