加入“365天英语学习计划”，+我的Wechat：“oralenglish”.1.Kick one's heels等人等到不能忍，无聊到只能踢脚后跟。这个短语的意思是，等人时没有别的事做，好无聊啊！例：We were kicking our heels, waiting for some customers. 我们百无聊赖地等待客人光临。2. Wait ages for (somebody/ sth)这个说法虽然有点夸张，但是绝对能表达出当事人无奈的心情。等待是漫长的，尤其是早起等车望眼欲穿的那一刻。例：I had to wait ages for a bus. 我不得不等了老半天的车。3. Twiddle one's thumbs很多人等得不耐烦又没事做，就只能玩手。那时，你真的有种浪费生命的赶脚。这个短语就用来形容等待时的无所事事。例：I was just twiddling my thumbs until the phone rang. 电话铃响前，我一直无所事事。4. Hang around因为要等某个人，你只能待在原地打转，这种被困的等待，你有没有？例：You hang around here in case he comes, and I'll go on ahead. 我先走，你在这里等着，万一他过会儿到了呢。5. wait up (for sb)如果你为了等某人回来，还不能睡觉，就可以用上这个短语。不过，通常它会用来告诉对方不用等了。例：I'll be back very late so don't wait up for me. 我会回来得很晚，别等我了。
