封面照片是国家二级保护植物秤锤树。中科院北京植物园曾经是我特别喜欢的一个观鸟点，因为里面多是为科研之用栽种的树木，对其管理也随顺自然生长的方式。改成国家植物园南园后有些部分开始定期除草，路也经过了一些改造，更整齐划一了，但也缺了些野趣。所以一个夏天也没怎么来。今天还是选择了保留了自然状态的草药园观鸟，果然有了收获。红嘴蓝鹊、黑尾蜡嘴雀都在这里觅食、栖息。看来鸟儿也喜欢自然原本的样子。
