2024年5月18日美国普林斯顿大学历史学博士王夕越曾是伊朗囚徒，在德黑兰研究古文献时被指控为间谍，获刑十年。王夕越在严酷的监狱中曾想结束自己生命, 普林斯顿历史系研究生发起“为王夕越读书”小组，通过电话给他读书和学术论文。跨国小组由一位留学生组织协调，五百多天几乎从未间断，成为王夕越在监狱中的生命线。在妻子曲桦三年营救下，他最终通过美伊囚犯交换回家。本节目中所有插画来自曲桦和儿子小葫芦。
